"I love the garden and trickling waterfall out the back doors!!! It’s so peaceful there! They have free seasonal organic veggies by the front door for patients, what a no brainer! All medical facilities should offer this instead of soda, coffee, chips, candy, etc. Those processed foods are poison. I didn’t care for the oncologist I saw (Dr Tebit) because I couldn’t understand her accent and I really didn’t feel like she was listening to me. Good diagnostically as she found 2 other cancers in my body that were never tested/symptoms overlooked by everyone else (I’ve been to 4 oncologists). Genetic counselor was very informative, explained everything well, gave me the information and let me make the decision! Loved this young woman! I would give 5 stars if they offered other natural therapies & more choices for oncologists but that’s my opinion because that’s what matters to me. I want a doctor that will give me all the information, give their opinion but leave the decision up to me. My body, my choice."
"We can only give one star and didn’t really want to give that due to the recent way my mother ( Edith Millner) was treated. She had been treated for several years by Dr Patel for MDS. He had always been so kind and compassionate about her and the cancer she was battling. My mother also suffers from dementia but that is no reason to treat her less than a human being and especially as my mother. He had explained to me that when her cancer started getting worse that her lab work numbers would eventually not budge any from the aranesp injection and the transfusions she was getting. Well it did become worse but she was still responding and I am guilty of trying to hold on to every little bit of hope to help my mother and she wanted that as well. Also Dr Patel had always been so understanding also until her last hospital stay which was a little over two weeks ago. At this point the hospitalist (Dr. Suppa) and Dr Patel literally decided that nothing more was going to be done to help my mother. Needless to say I was devastated!!! I realize my mother has a lot of health issues but she has always been a fighter and she is a human being and my mother!!! The comments were even made that my mother isn’t even concerned about her health and that just simply is not true. She has constantly where Dr Patel is and why she isn’t going to the cancer center to get her Aranesp injection. It’s so sad and heartbreaking and I’m lost for words!!! I can’t tell her that he isn’t going to treat her anymore. It would completely tear her apart. It’s just so sad that once you get a certain age and in a certain condition that you are just given up on and treated like a number instead of a patient!!! It’s a disgrace!!! Well one thing is for sure they have dismissed her with absolutely no further treatment and just left to die but our Faith is in GOD!!! He is our ultimate physician and healer!!! GOD is going to watch over her and protect her until he is ready to take her to her Heavenly home!!! It’s just a shame that all treatment is stopped if you are a certain age and of course if you have any dementia going on!!! They completely forget it’s your loved one!!! I pray that no one else has to go through this because it has completely turned my life upside down!!! Janet Tidwell"
"Hi, I would first like to say Dr. Patel and the nursing staff were amazing as my mother was a patient here for a very short time before passing away. Received one chemo treatment and became very ill after, however, she was in skilled care and was told by Dr. Patel to call if she developed symptoms such as a fever. The skilled care facility called on a Saturday and the on call physician stated she did not know why they were calling for a fever as these were the exact words the nurse at skilled care relayed to my mother and myself, the nurse stated she reported this to the cancer center as well. We waited for Dr. Patel on Monday morning and he prescribed medications Again Dr. Patel was amazing, but the doctor on call was a disgrace to the center. I work in oncology and when you have a patient who is already fragile and ill, you don't question a call for a fever or anything else for any patient. Fevers can be signs of many things and this particular physician showed no compassion or interest as to why my mother had the flu. I know there are many amazing staff and physicians there, but this would make me never bring another family member or myself if I still lived in the area, to this center for any treatment. It is quite disappointing to know this is the only cancer center in the area and patients can be treated as a number instead of a human being. Yes, my mother was ill, but perhaps maybe if the physician on call had cared enough, my mother would have lived a little bit longer. Again, working in oncology I understand some patients are more prone to things and don't survive, but at least try to help. Long story short, my mother went a week battling fevers and developed flu, sent to E.R to be admitted and passed away three days later. I hope this review will help make some changes and spare other families the distasteful manners of certain staff members. I gave one star for the physician on call that day, but Dr. Patel and nursing staff deserve more than 5 stars!"
"I can't give this Center enough stars. My first impression when I stepped in was how new and modern this center is and how clean it smelled. The nurses are top notch and super caring. They answer all your questions and know you by name. This Center has everything under one roof which makes care and treatment super convenient and easy. Again my family is forever thankful for this center and all it's staff. Thank you"
