"Not much to sing the praises of here. Staff are reluctant to help those in severe pain, all are too scared to prescribe any form of pain medication. Letting patients suffer with chronic pain issues is a very sad statement on providing decent care."
"My experiences have been very good. I've been seen at this clinic for 12 years now. Since I live in Bedford and work in Lynchburg I consider it an asset especially since I don't have time to go to Salem. They make sure i get the tests I need. The sent me for a CT exam that ended up detecting Cancer in its early stage. Had i gone to the normal doctors my health insurance would not have allowed the CT so rapidly. I owe them. Its a ginormous government agency. There will be hiccups. My only issue is there does seem to be a heavy turn over with doctors which sometimes leads to long waits for appointments."
"Very clean clinic. Friendly staff. Appointments are called on time. I have been going to this clinic for five years and never had a bad experience, so not sure what these other reviews are all about. I drive 90 miles just to go to this clinic. I only wish they had an X-Ray machine and a in house pharmacy for us veterans."
"Joyce Stowers needs to be removed immediately. She had caused harm to veterans by neglecting their care and not allowing communication from patient to dr. She even threatened to whip a disabled veteran in my care. One bad apple ruins the whole bunch..."
"My husband was sent here by the Salem VA, when he actually needed emergency care. Instead of taking his vitals and referring him to LGH, they worried too much about who said what and why he was sent there. Told us we needed to go to Salem ER and not Lynchburg. This was after waiting for an hour, they sent us away without even an exam. Called a patient advocate and she sent him straight to LGH. The nurse we saw at the Lynchburg Cboc was very condescending and made us feel like we were dumb when we were very frustrated because my husband does not have private insurance and we wanted to make sure that he was covered. Very bad experience. The VA needs some serious work."
