Reviews
"I was hesitant to go to VCU Orthopedics after reading some of the poor reviews online, but I'm so glad I did! My experience was the complete opposite of what I was expecting. I received 5-star care from the moment I walked in the door. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the PA was knowledgeable and compassionate. He took the time to explain my condition and treatment options in detail, and he answered all of my questions thoroughly. I felt confident that I was in good hands. I highly recommend VCU Orthopedics to anyone in need of orthopedic care. You won't be disappointed!"
"Their PA Eleanor Garrettson failed to tell me about a condition not related to my orthopedic care, but the Tech noted in their report. I was not aware of this condition until when I was in a follow-up with her 6 months later.I filed a complaint with The Virginia Board of Medicine. Her failure to tell me 6 months earlier delayed any treatment for this. Then she lied to me saying she told my PPC about it . Which if she had my PC would have called me."
"The registration person and nurse were great! That's the reason for the 2 stars. The doctor was horrible! He rushed through my visit and didn't seem to care. He just told me to go to a physical therapist and didn't even tell me if he wants to see me for a follow up!! Waste of copay and my time!"
"Saw Dr. Akinleye today and was completed dismissed by him. I was told the issue with my shoulder was either a dislocation or an infection. Considering the x-rays taken at the ER shows NO dislocation and there's no broken skin it's not an infection. Because I demonstrate pain differently? That was the most pointless appt and I'm appalled that he's still working there. He saw me for literally 5 minute, completely dismissed me. Didn't listen to s thong I said. His solution...maybe we could do an MRI and I can just pump you full of pain pills was his suggestion. He clearly didn't read anything about me in the chart. So I asked to be seen by a different provider.."
"Office staff where great! Physician Assistant listened to me. Surgeon (Dr. Harandi) also listened. I liked that he did not rush me into any drastic surgery. After many months of trying the conservative route I will now be getting shoulder surgery. So far fantastic."
