"This place as you may have read has made a CLEAR impression on clients. However, compared to other places I assure you this may be a more sustainable solution for it in fact led me to the recovered person I am today… The therapists from my experience were all very supportive and a shoulder to lean on. The groups they led could get offtopic and avoid actual solutions to problems nevertheless, they are always more than happy to do check-ins and always make sure that the clients are at least somewhat heard. I personally would like to shout out Jessica, my therapist who was exceptionally a perfect match for me. We got along great and she was extremely understanding throughout our sessions. The system when it came to RCs varied. I want to appreciate Alyssa, Emily, Abbie, night arc’s Rita and Grace, and twin lakes RCs Michelle, Mikaela, Vange, Barbara. They deserve the applause for the actual effort they made to get to know the milieu/clients. When it came to staff the miscommunication was incredibly childish. Especially RC gossip about clients. I won’t name names because I’m not an immature like the RC who’d done this, however I was accused and rudely talked about TO MY THERAPIST about actions that were made up, making me feel/seem like a horrible person though I did no wrong. Not only that but apparently the RC was playing telephone with other RC’s spreading lies about me that I had to clear up with many other RC’s. That affects someone a lot more than you think when it comes to recovery. I would also like to point out that if it wasn’t for the milieu (aka other clients)I had been with during my stay I don’t think that this would’ve been a very easy recovery. A lot of the time I did find myself being a more successful therapist to others rather than their own when it came to actually finding solutions to miscommunications or etc. I’m not sure whether that says I should take up being an advocate as a career or some workers that weren't doing their job. Especially since most of the time the problems were conflicts with the staff. I won’t waste too much more of your time, but hopefully you take all of this into consideration so you don’t also walk in completely clueless like many others have."
"some RCs were nice, but a lot of them were horrible. the directors were actually evil, they lied to clients and their parents all the time. they confiscate stuff and then never give it to you, and if your roommate gets sent to a higher level of care they just take all the clothes near their bed and send it with the patients parents, and then they will refuse to help you get your clothes back. the RCs will publicly humiliate clients frequently. they don’t help you at all here, and the group therapies are pointless."
"This place quite literally traumatized me.. If you plan on sending your child here do not.. From my personal experience and I have been to another clementine which went well but this place so many things abusive things happened. Girls spread rumors. The water from the showers were freezing and the drinking water did not taste like it was safe to drink.. People would complain and nothing would change. A staff made girls clean up another girls pee after they made her laugh.. That staff member still workers there. The newish worker I met Alyssa did not know what she was doing. The girls would tell me how they had to help her because she was nice but clueless.. The clifton house recently shut down and most of that staff is now working at the fairfax house but the rules aren’t the same so that made it weird because the girls would say this is our house and they can’t change the rules. The girls are disrespectful and I get it we’re all there for help but this is no place for healing. I got thrown into this environment where all the workers were telling me different and I got in trouble for things that some of the staff told me it was ok to do. So many girls got sent to another level of care usually higher so if that tells you anything. They lost my things. All the staff had different rules so clearly something was missing like communication and etc. And even the girls told me that staff told them not to tell new clients certain things when they admit to the program so if that tells you anything. We have three exclusions and my first breakfast I got my exclusions. I’m vegetarian and they gave me meat.. Apparently they forgot to put in my chart? I’ve heard so many outrageous stories of things that had happened there and that’s the reason why new rules are being implied so also if that tells you anything.. If you want your child to get help this is not the place and there are so many better places so please do not send them here. There’s so so much more but thats all i’m sharing."
"Many kids aren't able to get the help they need so, I told myself I was lucky for going to Clementine but no. They focused on getting the girls back to a certain body weight and forgot about the mental side. All the staff was rude and would mess with our minds to get us to eat. I was shaking my leg at the table and one of them told me to stop....someone like that should not be working in an environment like this. If I didn't finish a meal, I had to fill out a worksheet and call my mom. What type of encouragement is that?? I do NOT recommend this place for your child."
"Clementine was really helpful, the RCs were amazing and helpful. Sadly a lot of people quit but before all the RCs quit it was a great place. It was a great community Abby a safe place. Everyone has a different experience but I think that it was great. The food there was great but the only bad thing was I wasn’t with my parents the whole time and sometimes rumors would be spread around and would be taken seriously"
