"HORRIBLE OFFICE MANAGAMENT TEAM. CONSISTANTLY DROPS THE BALL. I'VE GONE IN FOR MY ROUTINE PRCEDURES, AND SEVERAL TIMES NOW, THEY CANT SEE ME BECAUSE SOMEONE DIDNT AUTHORIZE THE INURANCE OR MESSED UP AN APPPOINTMENT. OFFICE STAFF NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. The medical staff on the other hand , behind the closed doors are THE BEST!!! Sweet, Caring, genuine. Polite, professional. Dr. Patel is an amazing doctor.!! But, Constantly being sent away for a scheduled procedure because someone in that office dropped the ball, more than 4 times, is not ok. Many times, I wasn’t informed until the minute before I’m supposed to be prepped for my scheduled procedures. All this involves planning and taking time off work. As a patient for years, this has been disappointing and frustrating beyond belief. I hope change happens soon."
"Haymarket center… Dr and his assistant that prepped me were wonderful. Front desk, check out, and the NP/PA that sees you in consult had the personality of a dishrag. I’ll be returning to another facility. I drive 2 hours but will go the extra 1/2 hour to be treated like an individual."
"I love Doctor Patel, and I've had good experiences with pretty much everyone I've been in contact with in the Haymarket office, but they have a policy that is making problems scheduling and I'm pretty much done with them because of it. I'm the kind of person that writes down appts as they are being given to me. Then I repeat it back to the scheduler. I'm OCD about it, so I know if I have an appt or not. I showed up for the appt. They tell me I don't have one. I insist they take me bc of pain level, and to their credit they do squeeze me in, but I'm still leary bc of the schedule mistake. Then I have post-injection follow up appt, and it's canceled. Doctor sick, or something, which is fine. I get it. But when I call to reschedule, I make the appt, then tell him I have a balance I'd like to pay, so please transfer me to billing. He says, "oh, ok, I'll cancel your appt and send you to billing." I'm like, "what do you mean? No, Don't cancel my appt! Just put me through to billing and I'll pay whatever I owe" He says, "No, I can't. Our policy is to not make appts if you have a balance. " Mind you, this is not a late bill. I literally just got a text from them saying I have a balance, and since I'm in there every couple weeks, I just usually pay it when I get to the office. I have had no balances past 30 days with these people. NOW I understand how my other appt was canceled. I must have had a balance, but they never called me to say they were canceling it. Just did it, and let me show up. Today, if i hadn't asked for billing, would he have canceled my appt again?! Maybe it's an outside scheduling company that they use, but whatever the case, I'm not confident in their ability to keep the schedules organized. Like most people, I have to juggle my work to make appts so this department, and policy is the pits. Very frustrating."
"After other national experts failed to treat my chronic pain, Dr Patel and his team developed the solution that has left me largely pain free after almost 8 years of enduring chronic or complex regional pain and multiple surgeries. The difference is the one surgery he did worked where others failed"
"Went in for an appointment and injections were recommended. I was advised to book more than two weeks out in order for them to get insurance approval. They would notify if it was not approved. I show up for the injections, am not informed there are any issues and then I have the first round of injections. I come back a few weeks later for the second round, again no mention of any issues. Then I receive the bill. My insurance DID NOT give them pre-approval. I was NOT informed of this. I asked for a review which they did with no results. I requested my insurance company to review which led to several back and forth with the office by both myself and my insurance company in order for my insurance company to receive the paperwork for them to complete the review. My insurance company denied the claim. I would NOT have had these injections without my insurances approval and would have either waited until insurance approved or found alternate treatment. I now have a pretty hefty bill that I am out of pocket for and the amount was not disclosed to be me prior to the procedure. This should not happen! I highly recommend anyone who will have any treatment at this establishment be aware of the lack of notification if insurance does not cover any treatment/procedure. Check with your insurance company directly if there have been approvals completed."
