"Wi-fi didn't have a very good signal, but then again this is just a reason to get off your phone and enjoy the breathtaking views and enjoy nature!"
"What can I say? This was the best holiday getaway my wife and I have had yet. This extremely cozy little hidden gem is situated about 30 minutes from our destination - The Devil's Bathtub - and was rich in fresh air and nothing but the sound of nature. No traffic. No aircraft. No noisy neighbors. And absolutely zero stress. At $110-$125/night and $140 for the holiday, this was far more affordable than any comparable hotel and the elderly man who owns it was such a nice guy. Offered to wash our water shoes for us after our hike because they were covered in mud - I passed on the offer, didn't seem right to ask someone's grandfather to wash my dirty shoes. The cabin was beautiful. Spacious living room, 1.5 baths and a jetted tub in the master suite. Full kitchen with a stove, microwave, full sized fridge and even a dish washer. Satellite TV and WiFi. Couch even pulled out into a sofa so we're could all lay back and enjoy The Last Jedi as a family. Needs were comfy and we had more than adequate towels for our 2 day stay. I have stayed at nice places before, but I have never felt sad to leave anywhere but here. My wife and I are already planning a weekend up here alone and highly recommend that you give this place a chance of you're ever looking for lodging in the SW tip of Virginia. Very close to Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee and not too far from Ohio. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with some of the most beautiful country VA has to offer, this is definitely worth the visit. There are 4 cabins available and we stayed in #3. A huge thank you for this wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!"
"Been coming here about 8 yrs. Got tired of the staying in a hotel. When people ask where we are staying I teasingly won't tell them. The Cabins are clean, peaceful and very comfortable. Phyllis and her husband Roy are the nicest people."
"We had to cut our stay short because of car trouble. I would recommend these cabins to anyone. They are beautiful. We hope to go back soon."
"What a great hideaway spot tucked in the mountains! We came for a long Memorial Day weekend and used the Deer Meadow cabin as a home base while exploring the area. The cabin looks a little rough on the outside, but it is super comfy and modern inside. It was also very, very clean! Most of the comforts of home were provided, so we really didn't have to bring much aside from food. We stayed when the weather was wonky (it was warm one day, but chilly the next) but the cabin was easy to keep cool or warm as needed. The owners were easy to reach by cell phone as needed, and we were able to buy firewood on site for the fire pit. The gravel driveway for the cabins is a bit steep and windy, which we easily handled with our SUV but it might be tougher in small cars. Each cabin has its own yard area and driveway, so each has some privacy. There are train tracks that run just below the property, but aside from the occasional train that passes through you really don't notice it. The location is fairly rural, so keep that in mind if you plan on eating out for your meals; you'll have further to go to find places to eat. There is internet at the cabin, though it could be a little spotty at times. Overall, we had a great stay, and will happily return if our travels bring us this way again!"
