The Draftsman, Charlottesville, University, Autograph Collection Hotel

"Beautiful hotel located near UVA and downtown Charlottesville. Even though it was super busy, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the rooms were quiet. Valets were quick to retrieve vehicles and also careful, friendly. A very trendy and hip interior; love the upscale details. The only bad score I would give is the female hostess in restaurant on Saturday morning. We witnessed her non-poker face and attitude with guests in front of us (who made reservations for 20 but somehow got lost), and then she denied seating us because of the 20-top and seemed put-out and not friendly. (See my review of Oakhurst Inn Cafe for breakfast info because that’s where we went instead!)"

"Not the best Autograph Collection hotel that I have stayed in, but it was good. Rooms were clean and the hotel looked nice. Staff including the valets were good, but the location of the valet drop-off and pickup is horrible. There is only enough room for three cars and the street traffic was constantly being blocked during heavy times in the evening and morning. The hotel is a short walk to UVA, restaurants, etc."

"Great hotel. Will stay here again. Gym on top floor. Shower stall with great pressure. Lovely toiletries. Service was super friendly and helpful. Close to restaurants and bars. Corner rooms are nice. Unfortunately, valet has 1 speed and it isn’t fast. Even after tipping the kid $5, he didn’t load our bags upon departure. Ugh."

"Beautiful facilities, and awesome location right downtown. Valet only parking, but it’s only $25 for overnight. Staff are lovely and super accommodating. The rooms are very nice, shower is amazing, but we did experience issues with our toilet not flushing. These were also the WORST pillows I’ve ever slept on. Definitely stay here, but bring your own pillow for sure"
