"My mom's is currently at the Heart hospital and they give her the very best in care, I just question ,why no visiting between the hours of 6pm to 8 pm, when that is when visits are at a high, family members coming from work, or before it get too late, cause they have to be the work early, that need to be looked at ,cause. I feel if family is visiting, maybe cut it down to one person, not no one at all, that was very disappointing, that such a rule would be in place at that time, doctor and nurses were great all , was disappointed in that ruleq sure family"
"The care team Was terrific. Recover,y , H4...The 2nd floor receptioinist.. The waiting Room was filthy.same trash from Monday; on Wed... The Room H447 (1/8 thur 1/11) 2024 Wasn't cleaned from Monday - Thursday discharge. Trash overflowed in room and Bathroom trash cans. I was told staff was short.. Sterile is THE POINT. I bought my own cleaning supplies. That toilet is sooo low, in that room; so handicapped toilet for Heart patients not warranted? Then I go to that filthy bathroom on 4th floor across from elevators..Dear God .both bathrooms had trash; Hair, and stunck.. I was appalled at the filth. Hospital? Heart Hospital. My Hsb had 2 surgeries.. Monday & Wednesday. I sanitized that room and Bathroom. How does a heart patient have to stoop so far down. It's a child toilet in room H447 Staff were exceptional, the filth all over the waiting Rooms, patient Rooms, and ALL BATHROOMS. We all just came thur a COVID PANDEMIC. PLEASE HIRE PEOPLE, IF NOT ON STAFF; BRING IN OUTSIDE COMPANY. I KNOW A GRWAT ONE."
"Recently, In support of A Friend while Her Husband was having a LAD Stent placement. I arrived to the Heart Hospital , directed to the second floor waiting area. The Representative was very Nice and Helpful. However, There were areas around the seating that should have definitely been swept and mopped of food and drink residue. I noticed a Whiteboard on the Wall of The Patient Room but no information was filled out. The procedure was scheduled 0900 but I believe it was almost 2 hrs before He was taken for His procedure. Note: I’m not a Cardiologist but I do know If Imaging is studied correctly, technology has given medicine the ability to be accurate with measurements especially with Invasive procedures that can be life threatening such as Stent placements for the Heart. So Facial expressions say A lot, when this Surgeon entered the waiting room, it was evident Things didn’t go as planned. He reports….. He did fine; however, there are risks with breaking away plaques in vessels can alter the integrity of the vessel , with insertion of the stent that dissection can occur. if the stent is not long enough to bypass the compromised area they have to overlap stents to bypass the tear. But for it to happen twice during thus surgery, I question the Attention to Details. In addition, distal to the first, a second stent was placed and it too leaked requiring a overlapping section as well. “ this section (as he points to a drawn diagram) of the vessel looks good so In the Future if a Bypass is needed.” My Best Friend turn pale as He remarks, He can go home today and start cardiac rehab on Monday . 3 stents in just 2 months…."
"I was transferred to sentara heart from another hospital and was only told they were just going to take a camera to look at my heart and as soon as I arrived I was bombarded with nurses telling me I was having a major surgery and since I was almost 15 weeks pregnant one of the doctors told me that she hoped I wasn’t attached to my child yet because I was going to have a miscarriage due to the surgery. My family had drove 3 hours to come see me when I told them I was having surgery and by the time I woke up I was told that the nurses were kicking them out of the waiting room and didn’t see my family not even 5 minutes. While I was in the icu recovering from a surgery I didn’t even have my husband was told he can only see me for 15 minutes every 5 hours. The day nurses seemed very annoyed when I needed basic human assistance such as using the bathroom. When they finally moved me out of the icu things seemed a lot better until a simple 15 minute procedure I was supposed to have kept getting cancelled and rescheduled my entire time I was there and I wouldn’t know until after I was going almost 20 hours without food or water to know the procedure was being canceled. I finally decided to leave because I felt as I was being treated like a joke to the doctors. I had told 3 doctors that I wanted to go home and sign an AMA which all of them seemed to be ok with my decision but took literally the entire day to get me out and had to get a nurse to get me an AMA form and she had no idea I was planning on going home. The day nurses on the icu floor and on the 4th floor could definitely improve on their attitude. The night nurses were literally true angels and made things a little better. Doctors definitely need to work on their communication skills."
