"This beautiful Inn, nestled in the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, was the perfect getaway for us! The owners, Dale and Carol Lawrence, were wonderful hosts. From the greeting upon our arrival, to the luxurious “Richmond” room with the most comfy bed, to the delicious breakfast Saturday morning, we felt like special guests! We highly recommend this warm Inn. It is a perfect place to relax in the sleepy town of Hot Springs. You won’t be disappointed!"
"We’ve been coming here for several years. The owners Liz & Richard are true and wonderful people! That’s why we go there! Recently in June 2018, new owners came in. Carol & Dale. The beautiful inn is now named Hot Springs Inn. The Hot Springs Inn website is not in working order as the room photos are not actual tho you can still view on the Kings Victorian Inn website. Most of the beautiful furniture pieces have stayed but beginning to see small changes such as Liz’s beautiful colors leaving. The previous colors gave the beautiful home an air of fresh elegance not found in the dark, staunch, boring historical inns - Liz’s colors and Richards good smelling breakfast & coffee fumes wafting up to even the third floor is sadly missing. The new owners put out a good breakfast though it is more out of a store bought box and micro warmed hot breakfast. It is missing the love that Liz and Richard so generously took the time to happily and lovingly prepare for each guest with fresh squeezed juice served on gorgeous place settings and the most beautiful exquisite china and glassware! This is sadly gone too. We just didn’t feel special like how the previous owners went out in all ways to make you feel so exclusive! Even so the new owners are just getting their feet wet in Inn ownership, it shows. Advice to new owners: 1. Learn from your predecessors. They did it all right! 2. It’s all about the feeling- it’s got to feel good to the guests. 3. Don’t squabble in front of any guest, ever. Get along and enjoy! 4. Your personal opinions about other people shouldn’t matter or be discussed with any guest. 5. BE happy!! You’re living in a historical and beautiful home that has been built on Liz and Richards very successful hard work & smart, honest business ethics. Learn from them - humble them! Right now, you’re only riding on the previous owners years of backbreaking success. That is what people expect of an Inn of such beauty. For the time while the new owners own it, you must be caretakers of such a historical home, you truly are only caretakers, not owners when you are in such historical magnificence. Keep the Inn business going or sell to new inn owners, if you don’t learn to love the lifestyle within a first year. It’s not for every one."
"We stayed in October 2017 for 3 nights. Such a lovely home close to the Omni provided great convenience while we attended a meeting at the hotel. The precious very affectionate outdoor kitty greeted us on the porch. The owners were personable, extremely nice & graciously made us breakfast very early each day to accommodate our schedule. The room was large, very well decorated & the bed was extremely comfortable...in fact some of the best sleep we've had in a while. The private bath was also equally as clean & comfortable. Great home away from home experience:) We look forward to returning in the future."
"In 2009 my now belated and I stayed here. We rode out that way on our motorcycles and decided to stop. The main house was beautiful. We were not yet married but getting married in 2 months so they offered us the honeymoon house. The owners are the most sweet people you'll ever want to meet. The breakfast was wonderful. This B&B holds some very cherished memories."
"My wife and I spent this past weekend in Boxwood Cottage along with six members of our extended family. The accommodations are nicely decorated, neat and clean. If you're traveling to the Hot Springs area I recommend you give them a call. On a personal note: I imagine golfers find this place idyllic, but the rest of us found it a bit on the remote side. The fall foliage was at its peak so the scenery was beautiful. Relax in a comfy chair with a book and a drink, check!"
