"We took a gamble staying here for a week in Oct. after seeing some reviews, but I'm glad we did because we had a great time. They have so many activities around the campground our family enjoyed so we didn't leave except to get groceries the location was great within 7min we can be at Walmart. The grounds are well kept, the RV spots are spacious, maintained bath houses, we thought the many ways you could stay was neato so if our family doesn't have a camper they have plenty of options. Our family really enjoyed our stay, the staff was very courteous and attentive so that was a plus for us too."
"Seriously the worst, most poorly managed rv resort we've ever been to. They are riding the coattails of the reviews from the previous campground so be sure to look at the dates on the reviews as this one just opened late summer 2023. We booked a deluxe site for our 44' fifth wheel, yet we and other big rigs are put in 25' sites hanging over a drainage ditch making it difficult to access rear storage and nothing "deluxe" about the site at all. Truck has to be parked in overflow b/c there's no room at the site. Absolutely no information shared about the place when you arrive, no one to take you to your site if necessary (sites very poorly marked) and not a very friendly staff. The two big reasons we booked this campground was for the pool and tubing. We got to the pool only to find it closed for the season. No mention of that anywhere on their website or property. Sign on the property still gives the pool hours as open. Also not allowed to use the tubing area and they don't have tubes for you anyway. They tell you to buy tubes even though you pay a daily resort fee, but again the drop off area is closed. Most of my family ended up going home b/c the place is a dust field and nothing to do in the severe heat. Find out the next day they randomly decided to open the pool. There are only about 10 rigs in the whole park - why couldn't they make us aware it would open instead of noticing it when we were on our way out for the day. Seriously, how hard is it to be considerate of your guests and keep them informed? Too few dumpsters and bathrooms. I could go on and on. The place has a lot of potential, but right now it is severely mismanaged causing nothing but stress. Everything gets blamed on "corporate" decision but there's no way to get in contact with the corporate office. And now I'm sure I'll get some generic response from some who has never even seen this place."
"We stayed at Luray RV resort the second weekend in August & this is now one of our favorite campgrounds! The staff and campers are friendly and helpful. The deluxe back in sites are a little tight, but we did not mind. This campground is huge, so bringing our own golf cart really helped! The views at this campground are incredible, you are surrounded by beautiful mountains! The comfort stations are super nice, they have a mini split in them. The glamping yurts are pretty sweet, those have a mini split as well. There is so much to do, the pool and water slides are awesome on a hot day. My boyfriend loved the mountain bike track and the RC track. Being able to tube the Shenandoah River right from the campground is great! The walkway down to the river looks to be still under construction. Only one small complaint. The gravel is very very dusty. They should have a water truck come in and water the gravel to help cut down on the dust. We look forward to our stay this weekend for Labor Day!"
"We stayed at Luray for a week. The first night we came in at 5:18 and the office was closed. We got our slip from the office that was closed. The package had wristbands in it. We got to our site and did not like it do to the size and out camper being 38’. We rode back up to office and talked to an employee and they said they were leaving nothing could be done about changing sites until the next day because the computers had been turned off. We set up for the night. My parents were already here they informed us you had to wear the wristbands to show you were a guest of the campground. The package had no rules in it just maps and wristbands. The next morning I went to the office to change sites and were told none were available. I came back to my camper looked up sites online and found multiple. I went back to the office and showed them and they said they could move me it was just aggravating and would cost more. I paid the extra and got moved to a more accommodating site. While I’m there I rent a golf cart. No instructions are giving on it I’m just handed a key and a wristband that you have to wear and is not removable to drive the golf cart. When it’s time to charge I can’t get it to charge and my parents have to show my how because it must be in neutral to charge which we were not told. We go to the waterpark and pool but no slides are open during the week which we were not told. They are only open on the weekends. We go back Friday and my son is allowed to ride that is 46” because they say they are giving 2” leeway. We go back Saturday same thing. Then they have a shift change and he is no longer allowed to slide. Every night of our stay we ride the golf cart with no problem. Then on the last night we are told we cannot ride after 10pm. We are also told we couldn’t burn a fire but seen other people with fires. When we asked the security they said as long as it is small and put out before going in they let it go. I’m writing this review as I sit at my site listening to music 5 sites away that I had to hear in my bed til 1am this morning. Only good thing I can say about the trip is while we were there my son fell on the play ground and had to go to the emergency room. The near by hospital is great."
"We rolled the dice on the new RV campground, and were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this place. We booked a standard back-in site and it easily fit our 37' camper with room to spare. The pool is phenomenal, and the playground was great for our three year old. 3 minute walk to the Shenandoah River. Well stocked camp store (bought a new hose and S'mores). It's just outside Luray, so close to everything without being too close. Definitely recommend the golf cart because of the size/space. Overall, great campground for RV."
