"Went to the emergency room at Henrico Doctors Parham because my daughter was experiencing some severe pain. After speaking with the ER doctor I wanted her to be admitted and I was told the hospital denied it. They didn't think her case warrant her to stay. This girl has been to the emergency room five times since November due to the pain. She has been seen by a specialist and no one can find the problem but the hospital didn't think her condition warrant admitting. Admitting her would have allowed them to evaluate and monitor when the pain comes and go and also for a proper evaluation by a specialist. I don't know was it the color of our skin is to why they didn't think she was sick enough, or that I didn't know people in high places. I would like to understand how someone can say someone's situation is not serious enough to be admitted into the hospital. Wow!"

"My husband was admitted 12/21/2023 with sudden onset of memory loss and very high b.p.. From the moment we entered the doors until discharge 12/22 @4:30 he received the best care I have ever encountered. I am a retired R.N. so I have seen it all. Every person we encountered from housekeeping, ancillary staff, medical imaging, cardiology, neurology, nursing and security went above and beyond.Hats off to Parham Doctors Hospital"

"I have never seen such poor treatment from a hospital to a human being in my life. My son in law moved here just two weeks ago. He has sickle cell disease. This poorly ran hospital was the closest one to the hotel they are staying at until their apartment is available. If you know about this disease stress can bring on serious pain crisis. This pain is debilitating. First visit they told him they didn’t know much about his disease. Gave him pain meds low dosage; and sent him on his way. Not even 12 hours later he passes out. The same thing happens. So again he’s still in a pain crisis. This time he has seizures and is barely breathing. His wife asked to take him to a better hospital. But, his condition was too serious he had to to the closest one. He gets there and was told no need to treat him because he was seeking drugs! Right to his face he was told this. Since having worked in healthcare I know there’s a computer that can tell them where he’s been anywhere in the lower 48 pretty much and why he was treated. This Doctor didn’t even bother to look. He didn’t take his counts. So he calls me literally balling saying “Ma” they don’t believe me. I said I’m on the way! He’s a former Marine a mans man. We helped him into the wheelchair and the car. Not a word was said. They didn’t ask if he was driving after they gave him a pain pill. Went went to the large trauma center if you live here you know! His blood was drawn immediately. As expected they checked his records from other places. They knew by his blood work markers he has the disease! How dare this GARBAGE hospital let him suffer for days and treat him like a person that just needed drugs!!! He needed prescription drugs for a disease that most of us couldn’t tolerate! I will be filing a complaint today with DHP!!! You can’t treat people this way it’s negligent and I’m not the mom to just sit idly by. I’m his advocate!!!!"

"Had a reverse shoulder replacement by Dr M Walker. 5 ⭐️’s. The care at surgery, recovery, nurses were the best, pt and OT team and volunteer were 5⭐️’s. Exceptional, Amazing care from start to finish. Highly recommend this hospital and Dr Walker. Very clean hospital, staff very observant of cleaning hands and excellent cleanliness of everyone."
