"Nobody wants to take a trip to the hospital, but I had to. 1 am, feeling terrible the intake crew was on point! They got me checked in and comfortable within 10 minutes of arrival. All of the staff treated me with dignity and respect as they helped sort out my issues. I was admitted and in a room in the same day, Praise God. My nurses, (apologies if i missed any there was many of you and I tried to remember you all!) Racole, Jessica, Katie, Tierra, Giovanni, Ramona, and Justin. All took great care of me and helped manage my pain during the week long stay. My doctors, Sulemani, Wilson, Young, Rose, and Jones, along with the Nurses and CNA staff helped me to be comfortable, and treated me with dignity and respect through my entire visit. They marched me down the road to recovery, sometimes actually literally walking me down the hall to get me going again. I cant thank the team enough for their stellar efforts. To anyone reading this review I would ask you consider one thing if you are ever in my shoes. The Nursing and Doctor staff are there because they want to be, they are loving and caring individuals who have dedicated their lives to insuring your best medical care. It may take a few minutes longer than you like for that empty food tray to be cleared, or for them to answer the call button, but I would encourage you to remember, that we are not the only person in the hospital. While I was there A few rooms down there was literally a man Meowing like a cat. You cant make up the things these guys have to deal with on a daily basis. A little kindness and compassion toward them goes a long way to their mental health, and ultimately your own treatment. Thanks again for all you do, God Bless you!"
"The level of care here is absolutely atrocious. Everything moves at a snail's pace and incompetence seeps into every square foot of the hospital. I'd give zero stars if I could. My father recently had surgery here and while the surgeon himself was great, the care he received post-op was awful. After being released from surgery, it took nearly two hours for him to be transferred to a recovery room (after his surgery itself was delayed nearly an hour, as well). After not being able to eat all day because of the surgery, he wasn't in his room until nearly 7 p.m. and didn't get a single bite until almost 9. The care was slow, but we didn't think much of it since he was released the next morning. Chalked it up to understaffing. About a month later, he had an infection related to the operation and was rushed to the emergency room. He was admitted around 11 p.m. and spent most of the night on a bed...in the hallway. He didn't ever go to a room. At around 3 a.m. (5 hours later), a nurse came around to do part one of a two-part test. At nearly 5 a.m., they came to do a urinalysis that was ordered by a doctor before midnight. They finally released him not long after, as he was feeling much better and had received his antibiotics for the infection. We thought the saga was over. Then, nearly THIRTY-SIX HOURS LATER, he got a call from the hospital that he needed to COME BACK to be admitted. They said he needed to get his lab results and more antibiotics, and since the antibiotics had to be administered through an IV, he had to stay for TWO MORE DAYS. He was feeling fine, by the way. If his condition was bad enough to need 2+ days of IVs, why was he released in the first place? Why did it take the hospital nearly two days to figure out they released him prematurely? Why couldn't he do the IV in some sort of outpatient facility if that's all he needed? Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this hospital like the plague. And if you do get the plague, find care elsewhere."
"We had a great experience in the ER. My elderly mother got in quick to a room. The NP, RN and Doctor really was easy to work with and they did what was necessary for tests. Overall we were happy with the care for my mother."
"Lack of communication at Johnston-Willis Hospital!!! I had a family member there for a couple of months. The family member was moved four separate times. Three of the moves were in this hospital. The fourth and final time they were moved to a Rehabilitation Center! My family was never notified before or after the family member was removed. It just so happened that my dad went to the Rehabilitation Center. To check it out and happen to find out that the family member was already there. What kind of mess is this? Imagine going to the hospital to see your family member. You walk into the room and there is a stranger occupying it. How awkward is that for you and that person. Not only once but 3 times. Very unprofessional if you ask me! The craziest thing is that I had immediately communicated with the nurses and other staff. To notify us when they were moving them to another room. Spoke to the caseworker and head nurse on the day before the last move. They reassured us (the whole family) that they would notify us before the family member was moved to Rehabilitation Center. They ended up moved then the next day, and there was no communication whatsoever with the Johnston-Willis Hospital!!! The kicker is, they sent them to one of the worst Rehabilitation Centers in the city….."
"Arrived. 9something pm with my son. About a 45 min wait to even get administered. We left 2 something AM. Still wasn’t seen. The prep my child for an I.v that he never even gotten. Tried to tell me they gave him medicine for his fever but we were never even seen to receive any medicine. Nurse staff was super sweet and nice"
