"I was released today from the ER. Honestly expected worse care due to the awful reviews but it wasn’t so bad. One male nurse who assisted me to the restroom had especially good bedside manner and I have no complaints about the doctor who saw me either. He was attentive and listened to all I had to say. My main issue is that there’s no way to call for a nurse in your bed - literally first time I ever had that happen to me in all my years of chronic illness. If my bf hadn’t been there with me I don’t know how I could have gotten attention or all the assistance that I needed. Also the smells, I know I am extremely sensitive to them but they should really try to clean with chemicals that aren’t scented and also mandate their staff to not wear perfume or cologne. There was a nursing student I didn’t want to be rude to but I spoke up once because every time she came into the room I vomited afterwards and her perfume left me with extreme nausea even if I held my breath. The other nurse wore no perfume which I appreciated and I would say all of the staff made the experience more pleasant. I was distressed in the lobby due to the overly sweet chemical scents and had to unfortunately complain and request a bed sooner. Fingers crossed my bill won’t be outrageous for a few iv bags but we will see, I was charged an absolutely insane amount at inova once and I’ll never go back to that hospital. I did see they aren’t a for profit hospital so perhaps it will be actually reasonable. The inova bill caused me more stress than organ damage due to dehydration lol"
"We were on our way back to Connecticut coming from Fishersvile VA. My started having chest pains. The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said if continue to CT, Doris won't be alive when you get home. I stop turned the around and went to Winchester VA. Medical center. The doctors and staff was amazing. Their compassionate and tender care for my wife was simply amazingm I can't thank them enough. The five days she was there they were professional in their approach for her needs. I thank you all for saving my wife life. L.D.Robinson"
"So I think Winchester needs to pull it together, if babies are sick the should automatically send them to the pediatric unit weather they are admitted or not, to help lower the er patient rates but instead they rather pay people who get to do nothing all day an night basically. I mean the unit is small for a reason but Winchester will never put the kids first. They just want money even though it’s a nonprofit organization as well. They neglected my son with blood in his stool an couldn’t tell me what it was."
"The noise pollution in the mother and baby section of the hospital is horrible. The HVAC system is awful. It runs a disturbing loud push of air every 20 seconds and being stuck there as a mom for 24 hours is like torture. HOSPITAL management- you make the money- approve for maintenance to find a permanent fix for this. Its disturbing. I’m definitely going to give birth at Leesburg next time- it was an awful 24 hours in the tiniest- aged recovery room- not worth it. They are lucky to have a lovely labor and delivery staff and mother baby section but the hospital needs serious maintenance and Aesthetics upgrades…"
"Bottom line - This place cares more about profit. Post surgery refills are a joke when taken as prescribed and you run out. They either want you to suffer (told it’s too soon to refill even though mathematically/realistically it’s not) OR they want to make more money by forcing you to come into the ER (told if I could wait it out do so or come back in basically). If you need surgery - go elsewhere. *The only way to get good treatment is to have someone with you and stay in the hospital while recovering. This is my experience based off this visit and my previous ones. And of course staying in hospital makes the hospital more profit so bottom line is PROFIT for WMC. Update: Friday came and they never called. I called them and here it is Saturday without a refill. So I will now be forced to go into the ER for a refill ant some point and the hospital wins the profit from my pain. This is NOT how a hospital should be ran!"
