"They might build great fences but I'll never know. I've called several companies about getting my backyard fenced in. One said this job was too small for his equipment, and was helpful enough to give me some referrals. Another said he's slammed until mid-August, but again, was able to give me some other companies to call (including, unfortunately, this one). I called 2 weeks ago (May 13, 2019) to schedule an estimate. First, the phone was answered with a gruff "Hello." Not "Thanks for calling Evergreen Fence", not even "Evergreen Fence." I had to ask to make sure I'd even called the right number. But, once I had established that I was, in fact, in touch with the company, I asked a few questions, liked what I heard, and scheduled an estimate for that Friday. I was told I'd get a call Friday afternoon confirming a time, since he wasn't sure what his schedule would look like that day. It would probably be between 3 and 5, he said. I got to work early on Friday thinking I'd be ready to leave early. Friday afternoon passed, no phone call. I skipped my company's monthly themed happy hour (which I had really been looking forward to) and got home about 4, thinking he was just busy and I'd see him soon. Still no word. At 4:50 I called. No answer, so I left a voice mail, as polite as I could muster ("I may have gotten my dates crossed..." "Please call me so I can correct my calendar or reschedule..."). Have not heard back. I left another voicemail this morning but I'm not hopeful. I also hope something terrible hasn't befallen the owner, but sudden illness/injury/death is about the only excuse for customer service and communication this shoddy. Either that or he suddenly struck it rich and no longer needs to install fences for a living...but still, a decent person (and one in any sort of retail industry) would call and cancel appointments in advance, rather than just ghosting a potential customer."
