"My mom was denied coverage after missing a payment after decades of paying into her plan. She was stuck outside of the country three days into her trip due to a sudden worsening of her dystonia based Parkinsons. In addition it was February of 2020 when COVID hit Asia and she was stuck abroad. When she tried to explain her local representative stopped calling her back and they repeatedly denied a review of her case. If I have to write 1000 one star reviews of Genworth I will. Please NEVER buy long term care. Save your own money for a rainy day. Put it in long term funds. Don't make these scheming companies profiteers off your unfortunate circumstances!"
"Awful customer service. Been trying to change the ownership of a policy for 6 months now. My father is 75 years old and I am trying to take ownership since I am the insured. They have us jumping through so many hoops. Each time they send ownership paperwork, I drive an hour to get my father to sign (he is 75 & can barely write) they have now said the signature doesn't match the one on file. I fill out the paperwork - b/c his handwriting is not legible but he signs off where the signature goes. I offered for them to call him to verify it was his signature and they refused. Making us do all paperwork again even though obviously his signature will look the exact same as it did a month ago. All of this to delay us closing out the policy."
