Little Theatre of Norfolk
About the Business
The Little Theatre of Norfolk, located at 801 Claremont Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia, is a beloved institution that has been providing quality entertainment for the community for many years. Despite the challenges of the past year and a half, the theater has been able to continue its mission thanks to the support of individual and corporate donors, as well as various granting entities.
The theater is grateful for the generosity of organizations such as the Norfolk Commission for the Arts, Business Consortium for the Arts, United Way of Hampton Roads, Hampton Roads Community Foundation, City of Norfolk Office of Resilience Retain Your Rain Project, and the Norfolk Rotary Club. Their support has allowed the Little Theatre of Norfolk to maintain its building and provide digital and socially distanced content for its audiences.
In addition to its regular programming, the Little Theatre of Norfolk also offers a scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Southside Hampton Roads. The scholarship, awarded in the amount of $1,000, is just one way the theater gives back to the community.
As the theater looks forward to its upcoming season 98, it invites patrons to continue supporting its work by making individual donations through its website. With the community's help, the Little Theatre of Norfolk looks forward to keeping the lights on and the curtain rising for many years to come.

"As an avid supporter of local arts and theatre, my experience at the Little Theatre of Norfolk was nothing short of exceptional. This quaint and charming venue is a testament to the vibrant artistic spirit thriving in our community. From the moment I stepped into the theatre, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and creativity. The staff and volunteers were not only welcoming but also exuded a passion for the arts that was truly infectious. Their dedication to fostering a sense of community and inclusivity is commendable. The production I had the pleasure of attending was brilliantly executed. The actors, many of whom are burgeoning local talents, delivered performances that were both powerful and nuanced, demonstrating a level of professionalism and dedication that one would expect to see on much larger stages. The direction was innovative, and the use of space and lighting was ingenious, creating an immersive experience that left me and the audience captivated. What makes the Little Theatre of Norfolk stand out is its commitment to presenting a diverse range of plays that not only entertain but also challenge and provoke thought. Their productions often explore themes that resonate deeply with our community, reflecting the struggles, joys, and complexities of our contemporary society. This aligns beautifully with the theatre’s mission to not just entertain, but to enlighten and inspire dialogue and understanding. In a world where commercialism often overshadows the raw essence of art, the Little Theatre of Norfolk remains a beacon of genuine artistic expression and community engagement. It’s a place where the stories told are not just heard but felt, leaving a lasting impact on its audience. I left the theatre feeling not just entertained, but enriched – a testament to the transformative power of great art. The Little Theatre of Norfolk is more than just a venue; it’s a vital part of our community’s cultural fabric. I look forward to returning and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable theatrical experience."
"Saw Radium Girls this Sunday, and what a treat! Staff here are super friendly. Production was great. The actors did a wonderful job. Will for sure come back for another production. Word to the wise, bring cash. Venmo is an option, but it took me a long time to get the payment to go through."
"I went to see “Radium Girls” at LTN tonight, and I tell you what, LTN knows how to create ambiance and an amazing guest experience. From the moment you enter, you are greeted by people who are happy to see you. If you’re anxious like me and you arrive to theatres early, they have a green room experience like no other. They theme their green room according to the show. They posted photos of the Radium Girls themselves, and glow in the dark props and black lights were placed around the room, enhancing the ambiance. My favorite thing was where they posted the actors’ headshots, and you could write a glow-in-the dark note for them with highlighter. “A”, the person who ushered me to my seat, was so welcoming, and she saved me from slipping on a step and busting my head open. “P”, the House Manager this evening, was handsome, polite, and dressed so professionally. Any show at LTN is a full and fun experience."
"Update: 05 20 2023 the little theater that always produces an excellent production. 05 06 2023 What a wonderful way to enjoy the evening with friends. Great production and cast."
"An oasis for those in search of a little razz or dazzle in their lives. Volunteer, perform, support or just take in a show. The theatre is a long standing example of how the arts can bring together a disparate group of people around one craft and one goal. Worth supporting it’s continued success."
