"In spite of not having a reservation we were able to book a room on Wes 12/27. The staff are all very friendly. Also the breakfast that I had the following morning was superb. Next time I come to Suffolk we'll stay here again."
"The biggest issue was lack of hot water. I drove 11 hours and all I wanted was a hot shower and it was barely lukewarm. My second issue would be the front desk person typing with one finger. I’m tired. I don’t want to give you my email so you can get some kind of reward for signing me up.. I just want to go take a hot shower and go to bed. And last, the thermostat did nothing. I’m an hvac tech so don’t go thinking it was me. Price was decent though so it got the 3rd star for that."
"Property shows signs of neglect, or maybe it's just the lack of enthusiasm from the staff. The phone in the room didn't work, which isn't a huge problem with cell phones in everyone's hands but sorta a pain to call the front desk about the coffee pot that didn't work. Shower controls were backward, which almost led to a cold shower. Luckily, I've been in that situation before, so I tried the other way and boom luqe warm shower."
"I stayed at this hotel recently for work on two separate occasions. My first experience wasn’t that bad. I saw someone else’s review that referred to this hotel as “nothing but a daycare for the employees.” I would have to agree with that. That was the only issue that I had during my first stay. The front desk employee was busy tending to their kids while leaving guests to wait unnecessarily. My second and most recent stay was very frustrating. I get to the front desk to check in and there’s no sign of an employee for a couple of minutes. An employee finally pops up from around the corner and doesn’t even greet me. He checks me in and hands me my room keys. I get to the room he assigned me to and walk in to be yelled at by another guest that was already in the room. Thankfully the other guest turned out to be pretty cool and nothing escalated. We actually had a conversation and he had some negative things to say about the front desk employee. So, I go back to the front desk waiting for the employee to pop up. I tell him what happened and he didn’t even have the decency to apologize for the mistake. He quickly assigned me to another run and abruptly walks away as if I was interrupting something. I get to my new room just to be greeted by a weird odor and a dirty old rag on the floor that housekeeping left behind. Thankfully this stay was for only one night."
"The day shift staff are more pleasant than the night shift. The rooms were nice and spacious. Could be cleaner. Remnants of hair in the bathroom and a roach was spotted, which they comped us for. Upon departure I left something behind and they helped me retrieve it so that was good customer service on their part. I am grateful for that. Breakfast was pretty ok. Cinnamon buns were delicious. Coffee was community brand and very good. Pool was closed and pad locked. No outdoor seating aside from that and the smokers bench out front. Would be nice to have a place to enjoy for leisure or a fire pit area, and to take in nature and nice weather. Just a suggestion."
