Larkspur Middle School

"This school may seem like a good school from the reputation but its horrible. The teachers barely teach, last year there was a whole math class that not only failed the sops, the teacher still has a job. And this school cares nothing about the students we had 7 fights in one day. ONE DAY! So far we've had about 30 or more fights and we just had one today. And to add on top of that, the countless do nothing but give referrals and act all nice but when you need help their clueless.Next, the lunch food, the burger meat is pink on the inside and paper thin, the chicken is always burnt, and the nacho cheese is literally a solid. also the breakfast always runs out in about 5 minutes."

"This school is HORRIBLE, the burgers are pink inside, my teeth are more white than the walls, and to finish the have spiders around her and the staff are rude. some of them curse and others are actually teaching their students ! but overall Horrible... the water is brown and taste like a tide pod expired and exploded in your mouth, the milk is ok but the french fries are barely cooked . Second the school could use Some Good water , you should not have to Buy good water from The lunch room. Other schools actually cook their food."

"This school is trash. They feed us disgusting food, the burgers are pink, the only cooked food are the cookies because they are burnt, the slushies are overpriced and we have no time to drink them. The teacher's are rude, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. The buses are always late, and the teachers don't help you. The Summit "learning" program doesn't help anyone."

"Parent here. My daughter was stalked, reported it to the authorities and they bullied her to recant...and then wrote her up on her student records as a trouble maker. Another daughter experienced something similar. Good kids don't feel safe. One of her teachers was constantly attacking her ethnicity and telling my child that her family was nothing more than drunks and criminals....because that's what all of her race were. This school is not the worst in Virginia Beach but is not the best. Some staff are outstanding while others vicious and/or incompetent. Funding is short.The world is not a pretty place and middle school is hell. Dealing with the issues here is hell. My advice, if you have to send your kids here, find your child a good dojo, especially if you have a daughter. Find outside sources to educate/enrich your child. The community colleges see that lack of quality education and now allow teens 13+ to be enrolled and the local libraries have first class programs. Good luck!"

"This school does absolutely nothing to help the students. The teachers just give the work and when one kid needs help, they cop an attitude. One of the worst teachers I've seen is Mr. Wasserburg who gives out ISS and referals for absolutely no good reason. My kid got one that once said, "_____ was defending herself to another student." We teach kids to stand up for themselves, but when they do, they are the ones who are told they are wrong. I waste my money on lunch because half of the time, it is cold and just plain disgusting. I am so glad we are leaving next year. I hope Kempsville Middle is at least somewhat better."
