"My experience with these movers was ok but not great. Two of the movers including the driver of the truck were very arrogant and opinionated which i prefer not to deal with. In addition, a number of items that i moved were damaged in the process and the insurer that they use was a nightmare to deal with and took forever to process my claim. When they finally did process it, they did not provide me with anywhere close to adequate compensation. If you can find someone else to move your belongings, i suggest doing so. And don't waste money on using their insurance as it is abysmal."

"I hired Allied Van Lines (specifically working with their affiliate Bayshore Moving) for a recent move from N.C. to D.C. I'd highly recommend for interstate moves. It wasn't the cheapest quote I got at $4,300, but with movers, you get what you pay for. I wanted to work with a company that is experienced in interstate moves, has the proper insurance, doesn't do any scams like requiring a deposit or cash upfront, and that I could trust would deliver my items safely. Highly recommend! They assign you a designated contact who stays in touch throughout the process — updating you on when your team will arrive, quickly responding to questions, and keeping an eye on how it's all going. The movers themselves were friendly, efficient, and careful with my stuff. We had two movers load my apartment, which took a few hours. Then, we had a team of three do my unload in N.C., and they were done in about an hour and a half. Nothing was lost, nothing was broken. And for reference, they loaded my stuff in D.C. on a Friday and I received it the following Thursday."

"The movers showed up on time and really took care to wrap our things securely. They packed the truck for maximum safety. Then the unloading team came right in time. A team of four got our belongings in the house, in the right rooms, so quickly I was amazed. And the pre-move team of Mark and Laurie were so helpful. They adjusted our price to reflect furniture we decided not to move, and kept in touch with us through the process. The price of the move was good, and after hearing awful stories of moving companies trying to rip people off, I was nervous. But Allied was transparent and honest in their pricing. I would use them again."

Even though we didn't have much warning as to the specfic day our belongings would arrive until very close to the arrival day - a process thing) and even though we had one damaged item, the communication from our coordinator, Laurie, was excellent. Her responses to our questions were prompt and you could tell she'd been doing this for quite some time. The crew came on the front end of when we were told they would arrive, so we weren't waiting around all day. The driver and crew were extremely efficient, friendly and knew what they were doing (we had them pack too). We haven't been through the claims process yet, but so far, a good experience considering the distance and logistics it took to deliver. If the claims process goes smoothly, I would recommend Bayshore."
