"This review is for Alexa, the woman working the evening check-in. She deserves a bonus! Alexa was phenomenal at her job. She was really kind and friendly the first night, and even better the second.. Unfortunately I came down with the flu during my stay and was unable to drive the day I was supposed to check out. She let me book the same room the same night so I could get more rest, checked in on me, offered waters and was genuinely caring. Alexa at the front desk needs to be promoted!"

"This is a great place to stay if you plan on visiting Luray Caverns and/or Shenandoah Park. The lady with the red hair that greeted us at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very nice and clean. The restaurant has a great bartender and our server at breakfast was also terrific. Enjoyed the jacuzzi and pool."

"Beautiful location overlooking the golf course. Hotel is modern and beautiful. It's absolutely one of (if not THE) best places to stay in this area. Most importantly, the last time we were there (Fall 2023) the staff were absolutely top notch. We received the best service both in the hotel and in the restaurant that we've gotten anywhere in a long time."

"We recently booked a number of rooms at the hotel for our daughter's wedding at Lake Frederick, VA. The hotel rooms were nicely appointed and spacious and the common areas were spotless and inviting. The front desk staff was very helpful and responsive to everything asked of them. We also reserved The Washington/Jefferson Ballroom, for a Night Before Welcome Reception. Gordon Stearns, Director of Sales and Marketing was a pleasure to work with and he accommodated all our requests. Everything was perfect! The food was delicious and service stellar. We would definitely use this DoubleTree location for a future event."

"I took a short weekend getaway and stayed in this hotel for one night on the third weekend of October. Despite the negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Rooms were clean and everything was working well (thermostat, tv, lamps, etc.). Some furniture were showing age; but they are visibly taken care of. Public space, including guest room floor hallways, look refurbished. All equipment in the fitness center were functioning. Indoor pool seemed to be enjoyed by other guests. A lot of parking spots around the building. View of the golf course was spectacular. Location is ideal for quiet time; but easily accessible. It's just a short drive away from shopping areas and Old Town Winchester. Staff members were very friendly, including Norman, Haley, and Ramon. This is a hotel worth staying in!"
