"Our first time here! Chips and salsa served fast. Followed by margaritas which were very good. Our server, Poncho, was very attentive and friendly! Food was served fast, hot, and delicious. Portions are generous and pricing was very reasonable. Definitely recommend this as good, authentic Mexican food."

"This was a great lunch. Not too little, not too much. Very delicious! And, the dish lived up to its name, "Speedy González", it came in a few minutes. The service I received at all La Carretas in the lynchburg area has been superb. I've been eating there since the original on Timberlake Road in the mid-1980s. Thank you, La Carreta!!!"

"Great food, service, not so much. The restaurant wasn’t busy and I was seated right away. Once seated I was given my complimentary chips and salsa in which the salsa was very flavorful. That’s where the quick service stopped. I waited a good 10 min before someone took my drink order and before I could get out I was ready to order he was gone. He came back and dropped my drink off while passing so another missed opportunity, so I waited and waited. I finished my drink and finally someone came by and took my order. The food came out fast and I finished another drink and I waited and waited. I was finished with my food and was still waiting for a refill. There were a lot of employees standing around conversing, but not focusing on customers. I received my refill the same time I asked for my bill. Despite the slow and lacking service, the food was very good. I had the fajita burrito and it was loaded with flavors. Another plus was their homemade hot sauce. A lot of Mexican restaurants have homemade hot sauces that you have to ask for, some are good and some are real good, theirs was amazing. Five stars if I had descent service."

"I really enjoyed my meal here and I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Try the chicken and spinach enchiladas. They were amazing. Service was very good and never ran out of my drink or chips."

"Went to eat here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Was greeted by a not-so-friendly hostess, which made us think we weren't going to like it, but in fact the food was delicious! She took dirty glasses off the table and status in a booth without the table being cleaned first, that is the only reason I'm giving for stars, would be five stars for the quality of the food. Our waiter was very outgoing and friendly and came and placed chips and salsa on our table and took our drink order. from the time we placed our order to the time the food came I would say maybe 5 minutes elapsed. Service was very prompt and the food was extremely good. The only caveat on this day was the hostess... We love the decor & the southwest feel & the bathrooms were very clean. will definitely eat here again and recommend to others!"
