"This is one of the true antique stores in the area. They always seem to have high quality items on hand. Prices are good especially considering the quality of the items."
"Can’t say enough about Federal House Antiques! We stopped in to browse, not looking for anything in particular and walked out with two framed Washington lithographs, a late Georgian English tea caddy, early andirons, some Dutch Delft trading beads, and more. Jimmy has some excellent English Colonial pieces, many tilt-top tables, beds, side and dining chairs, fireplace implements, books, textiles, and so much more that is perfect for our late 18th century farmhouse. He is very knowledgeable and was happy to speak with us about anything we asked, and worked with us on pricing as well. This shop has been added to our “must return to” list, and I can see a trip to Lynchburg happening again soon! Note, FHA doesn’t accept cards, so be prepared to pay the old fashioned way. 1.19.23: Have added some pics of our purchases."
"This is the best antique store I have ever been to; hands down. The proprietor is a very knowledgeable and friendly sort. The selection is unequaled in my experience. Outstanding furniture, books and art. There is an emphasis in English Colonial America. Well worth the visit. I always find something I want to own."
"Without doubt the best antique shop in the region and one of the top five antique shops I have ever visited around the world. The shop is filled with an unmatched collection of early American goods, from pewter and silver to requisite furniture. Many items date to the early 1800s and late 1700s. The proprietor has a wealth of knowledge and is extremely kind. His prices are unrivaled — I offered him more for an item, and he wouldn’t take it."
"We stopped by this store about a half hour before their posted closing time. The door was locked, but there was a sign saying to please ring the bell, so we did. The owner came down and let us in. He was very nice, and knowledgeable about antiques in general and the items in his store. I purchased two items, which he gave me a great price on. He was kind enough to take great care in packaging my items so that they would not get damaged on my way back to Tennessee. One helpful thing to know is that he does not take credit cards, but he did take a personal check instead."
