"We were glad to find this restaraunt for date night! The food and service were great and it had a nice atmosphere and felt a little more upscale than other restaurants in the county. We saw that it is owned by the people who own Trojan Grill and we both agreed that we prefer this restaraunt/menu. We ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer and both of us had the Southwest rice bowl for our meal. For dessert we shared a slice of the lemon cake. It was all delicious. Our only critique would be that the rice bowls could use a little more flavor and vegetables, some avocados would be a great addition. We enjoyed the meal and atmosphere and would definitely recommend."

"I really love Coopers Tavern! The food is incredible. A while back my family flew in from Wisconsin and we went for the first time and I was beyond impressed. We are huge fish fry lovers. I have to say, out of all the places I’ve been, Cooper’s Tavern has the BEST fish fry. The manager and owner also came by and said hello. They treated us to a free dessert too, we couldn’t believe how sweet everyone was. I really want to try the other menu items someday but I can’t stop ordering this fish fry because it’s so good lol."

"Recently opened, Cooper’s is nestled in the back of a larger building. GPS will say you’ve arrived but will be in front of a CPA office. Keep going to the back and you will be there. The restaurant is open concept and fairly large so can accommodate larger parties. The bar is well stocked. Service was warm and friendly. The food was terrific and fresh. Calamari was tender and flavorful. My wife had fish and chips and I had the brisket tacos. Strongly recommend and it’s worth the trip from Richmond, Hampton Roads or if you’re wanting to make a stop to eat on your trip if you’re not from around here. Will definitely be back."
