"Food options are limited but pretty decent. The fried chicken and Brussels sprouts were the options that we enjoyed the most. Come here for the beer and the atmosphere not so much the food. Service at the counter is nonexistent and a kiosk with a bar tender would’ve been by far a better option versus the blank expression and bland personality of someone taking your order but the kitchen peeps were on point and smiles at you while you grab your food. Nice place but could be better."
"Top notch bites to go with top notch beers. Our favorites are the Kimchi Fries and Chicken Karaage. The items from the Yaki though are delicious as well. The fish sandwich I believe was only seasonal but good while it lasted! Everything is well prepared and full of flavor. I’ve been here multiple times now and still come back for more. Nokoribi shares the same roof as Veil Brewing for those not aware. The food is all made fresh when ordered, and meticulously prepared. A lot of these 1 star reviews cite pricing which is really unfortunate. You’re getting an amazing variety of really good food from a team that puts a lot of care into the experiences they try to provide. This takes time, and time isn’t free. If large volume of hastily prepped bar food is what you want, this is not the place. The pricing is really pretty fair for what you get."
"Good food menu! The kimchi, kimchi fries and fried chicken sandwiches were delicious! Don’t recommend the mixed drinks, they’re not very good. Just stick to their beer menu. Staff was not very friendly"
"We did not expect to find such flavorful, well-executed, and satisfying food inside of a brewery—but now, I’ve gotta say, this is the perfect complement to the wonderful beers from The Veil! The skewers were perfectly grilled and seasoned (the shrimps, especially, were plump, juicy, with just the right amount of char and smoke), the cucumbers had a nice scent and flavor from shiso leaves, the rice and veggies that accompanied the skewers were delicately seasoned, and the black-sesame ice cream sandwich was easily one of the best version of the classic. Do yourself a favor, come here and order anything on the menu, and you’ll find your enjoyment of The Veil that much better!"
"Wow. This is likely my new favorite spot in RVA. Tonight I had flavors that invoked memories of neighborhood izakayas I visited in Fuefuki and Osaka, as well as childhood nostalgia peppered in. The chicken liver mousse is a must-try -- perfectly balanced flavors and a velvety texture that was incredibly refreshing after a day in the summer heat, especially when paired with the harusame. The yakitori skewers were packed full of favor -- I particularly recommend the chicken thigh! And if you like spicy food, the chili crisp squid is a TREAT. To top it all off, I'm a little taken aback that my favorite Old Fashioned in Richmond could be found at a brewery! Between the exceptional food, and friendly, talented staff, I can't wait to return. I'll be back tomorrow!"
