"Shoe Show is located in the Chestnut Hills Shopping Center between Big Lots and the Home-Maker Furniture store. Clean, well- organized store with a large selection of casual shoes. I selected $54 Sketchers running shoes because a blood red tag with the word "Sale" caught my eye. I noticed another tag on the shoe box with bold black text reading "$5 off." I thought to myself $5 off isn't that much, but a sale is a sale. After I had purchased the shoes I asked the clerk why he didn't deduct the $5, and he answered that the sale price only applied if I also bought a backpack. It turns out the yellow tag included fine print indicating that I also had to purchase the backpack. While the salesperson was ringing up my purchase, I mentioned that I was a new customer. You'd think that he would have applied the paltry deduction just to satisfy a new customer. He did not. Sales 101: the customer is always right."
