"We ate dinner at the bar. The service is lacking. The surface of the bar was not wiped off at all with a clean towel, each time people got up and plates removed. Why is this? People who set at the bar want a clean surface for their arms and their napkins. I expect better by this staff. We have been eating at this restaurant for over 30 years. The food here is always good. The staff need to be aware of what is the correct steps to ensure a clean table or counter for your guests. The bar could have a person who only removes dirty dishes away and wipes the counter. Like a bar back. Also they can wipe down seats and sweep the floor, and bring ice etc. I had to switch out a bar stool because of a spill and I stepped on food that was on the floor. We did enjoy our seafood dinners and house salads."

"Banana cheesecake dessert.... you can't go wrong. The fried carfish dinner was ok. The cornmeal used on the fish to fry it was salty!!! Not sure if that's their regular seasoning or if someone messed up the salt measurement for that day. Ribs were good. If you're not a person that likes a lot of sauce on your ribs be sure to tell them to put it on the side. Their crabcake sandwich was really good and so was their cheeseburger & fried chicken salad. Surprised they don't serve bread to tables. Overall, very nice restaurant."

"We hadn't visited Shakers Restaurant in a few years due to its popularity and wait time for a table. We picked today at an earlier time-5pm- which was perfect- no wait and not overly crowded. The hostess staff greated us with warm smiles and helped us find our awaiting family. Our waiter was professional, patient and very helpful. Our food was delicious and plentiful. We had the house salads, Burgers and Fries, Seafood Platters, Honey glazed Salmon , Catfish platter , Barbecue Ribs and Chicken Cordon Blu.The prices are still reasonable and competitive with other Restaurants. The atmosphere has the same welcoming feel as remembered- as was our dining experience. We will return ."
