Baine's Books & Coffee

"Baine's is a great little local coffee shop with a good selection of books as a bonus. This is not a Starbucks; you probably won't be in and out in the blink of an eye and that's FINE. Relax. Their drinks are good, the staff is friendly, and we especially love their quiches and scones (more of a cookie/cake-like scone - not the dry/crumbly type). They have creative themed drinks for various holidays, and they host/participate in community events. They also have a few items in the shop from local artists and craftspeople that are good for small gifts or souvenirs. I don't particularly love the type of oat milk that they use (it's the syrupy kind and they often forget to shake it before pouring which makes for a bit of a watery/slick latte), but at least they have the option for the non-dairy, non-nutmilk crowd. We're lucky to have this place in Scottsville!"

"Sweet, cozy bookstore and coffee-shop with some interesting knick-knacks and souvenirs. But the best part? The vegan sticky buns! Oh my goodness, the most heavenly dessert we've ever had (vegan or otherwise). Seriously, the sticky buns were one of the highlights of our trip. Can't recommend them enough."

"Very quaint and nice spot in the middle of Scottsville. A couple doors doors down from the brewery and they open late, for a coffee shop. Great coffee. Warm atmosphere. Lots of interesting books. Parking across the street"

"I walked into Baine's, and something just clicked. It's such a cozy atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and the food and drinks are divine. They also offer a pretty nice collection of books and gifts. I really had to try not to spend too much money, but I can't say I'll succeed in that next time! Baine's is SUCH a nice place, though. I can't wait to go again! Update: So, I work here now. Still my favorite place. Come on in, get a drink and something to eat!"
