The Mingo Saloon & Lodge

"My wife and I have stayed here in the past and we looked forward to a 4 night stay in October '23. We just completed our stay and we really enjoyed it. The lodge is located in a great location, if you are looking for outdoor activities. We used the lodge as a home base for long day hikes in the area. Andrea at the lodge was great! She helped with everything and did everything around the property. She made us feel welcome. She was great to talk to and gave good suggestions for future hikes. She deserves recognition from the lodge owners as she went above and beyond her duties. We had dinner every night at the lodge's restaurant (when it was open Thursday-Saturday). Food was great, but it had a very limited menu. The bar also had limited options. We would like to see the menu and bar expanded as it was in the past. The pepperoni roll special was great! The rooms are on the small side, but are very comfortable and clean. Perfect for what we were looking for. Compared to our last stay at the lodge, the previous owners were very engaged with the guests and ensured a great stay. Andrea does an amazing job, but it is obvious she is pretty much the only one there. The lodge could use some help with exterior maintenance / landscaping. The lodge also has great property amenities such as a large covered patio and common areas, but they are not utilized as they were in the past. This lodge has great potential and could easily be returned to its former glory. To the new owners, please consider some reinvestment into the lodge and the employees."

"We stayed the weekend of 5/26/23. The innkeeper is wonderful! She is friendly, welcoming, and gives great service. We had dinner and drinks at the restaurant and it was very good. She made breakfast the next morning for everyone at the lodge including her homemade jam! Our room was very clean and comfortable, we will definitely stay there again!"

"We stayed overnight here in room 5. Only one night during the off-season for them. We were disappointed when we arrived to find that the restaurant was not open. It operates on different schedules during off-season, so call about this. The AC did not work, but the outside temp was cool, and they gave us a fan for the window that worked nicely. The hot water takes a long time to get warm, but it gets very hot eventually. The whole experience was made wonderful by the innkeeper. She made us real food for breakfast and was extremely friendly. If they can get the mechanical stuff fixed, this place will get a 5 star next time."

"This place is awesome. The owner and staff make you feel like family. The room was clean, comfortable and the Inn itself is beautiful. The owners dog Molly is such a sweetheart. Perfect location as a hub for some great motorcycle riding. Loved our stay. Thanks Will and Amber for making our stay great. I will be back soon."
