"I just had the worst experience trying to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was so damn rude. She basically told me that I was lying about having debilitating migraines. She gave me little to no chance to explain and then hung up on me. This cant be a professional establishment. Im so pissed. They just hire ANYBODY."
"This is where you go when your headache specialist or neurologist says that they're out of treatment options. I was incredibly disabled prior to being a Jefferson patient and now my migraine is under much better control with a more aggressive acute treatment plan. Incredibly grateful for my care team and how quickly they send prescriptions, messages, etc."
"Good doctors who are knowledgable in chronic headaches and have access to cutting-edge treatments. Can take a while to get in because of high demand. Husband had great success here years ago, resolving his chronic headaches. This time around, no luck so far. I took off stars solely because of the records imaging department. I don't even know where to begin. My husband has been trying to get a couple of MRIs forwarded to new doctors for literally months--almost a year--now. Sometimes no one answers the phone; if you leave a message, no one calls back. If you finally speak to someone, they say they've sent it, but the new doctors say they received nothing. If you get a different person another time, they'll tell you a completely different process is required (patient authorization form, or the new doctors must the images specifically, etc etc. It changes every time.) The woman most recently tried to challenge my husband when he called to check in because they failed to send one of the MRIs he requested (he requested all imaging from a range of 4 years to be sent, they only sent one). The woman said, 'Well you didn't request that year,' as if the year she was referring to wasn't included in the *range* my husband requested. Then the woman said the new doctor needs to request the missing MRI again, and that they did in fact send it. (???) The new doctor received no such thing, and was shocked at Jefferson's convoluted processes, especially because the new doctor had already requested all imaging from them.... why would she have to do it again just because Jefferson's records department is unorganized and inept? I can't even describe how much time has been wasting talking to these completely inept, rude, and time-wasting people at the records department. Only the head of the department seems to have any sense, but you rarely get him on the phone, and he often isn't aware of what his colleagues have been relaying. GET COPIES OF ALL YOUR RECORDS AND IMAGING WHEN YOU GO IN FOR APPOINTMENTS. The records department has severely slowed the pace of my husband's care due to their negligence."
"This center came highly recommended by a doctor we respected. Unfortunately, the office is completely disorganized, provided wrong information procedurally, and the doctor arrived very late, leading to cutting appointments short. In patient was much worse: generic treatment, not listening, not asking questions, not answering questions, and a general lack of coordination between attendings. They were cagey and often didn’t follow through on agreements. We did not feel safe here at all."
"Migraine Headaches are the number one complaint to doctors above diabetes and asthma combined. I have suffered with chronic migraines for over 20 years. On my last visit, I was so grateful to Dr. William Young who treats me I felt it necessary to let people know where they can get help. The Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has one of a few world renowned academic HEADACHE centers in the country. They specialize in all types of headache pain which is the 5th leading cause of disability. Their team of headache medicine specialists include neurologist, fellows, psychologist, psychiatrist and nurses who provide primary care level to advanced care when you need hospitalization, like me. I am giving you national support information as well as community support as well as social media connections. Migraine Headaches are a debilitating disease. There is help for you or anyone you know who is suffering or silently suffering. I wish you all well!"
