Colonnades Family Medicine: Desiree Butter, MD

"This is NOT the place to go to for serious issues. Dr. Butter does not listen to her patients' or their concerns. Last year, I started to get severe bruising with unknown causes. I went to Dr. Butter, thinking I had some sort of deficiency. She didn't look at my bruises, nor did she do any sort of blood work. She told me the bruising was brought on by varicose veins (which, according to her, was caused by weight) and referred me to Weight Watchers. Spoiler alert: I don't have varicose veins. After that experience, I refused to go back to her office. The bruising continued to get worse, so I visited a new doctor--a doctor who actually took my concerns seriously. We talked about my bruising, she ordered blood work, and I ended up being diagnosed with a very serious blood disorder. Despite my rigorous treatment, I was still recently hospitalized for several days. If I had trusted Dr. Butter (and thank goodness I didn't), I would've been left untreated and can’t even imagine how much worse it could’ve been. If you do end up going to this office, please just take everything she says with a grain of salt. And if anything seems wrong, get a second opinion. Even though getting an appointment at her office is easy, it’s not worth it."

"I am so grateful for Dr. Butter. She's been by PC for almost 4 years now. She is responsive and able to manage the difficult Tricare system, getting me the referrals I need. Last year I had a problem with my foot, when I called her she had me come in THAT day and referred me for a close by (across the street) x-ray THAT hour and I was able to get diagnosed with a broken foot immediately and get care before I made it worse. This is one of the many times that she has come through! I highly recommend her if you are a busy mom and need practical care and some referrals to specialty doctors."

"Overall a very agonizing experience for me. Getting an appointment, though, was very easy. My radiology orders were not posted and my OT orders were messed up. Dr. Butter became uncaring and inaccessible to me following my office visit despite multiple attempts over 3 weeks to reach out to her. Her staff finally informed me that Dr. Butter would advise me about my blood work results ONLY if I make another PAID telephonic or office appointment with her. I wish she cared more about treating me than my pockets. A sharp contrast from ALL my previous PCPs."

From that time to the present, we have received excellent care from Dr. Butter who is thorough, compassionate and knowledgeable. She is caring and extremely helpful to us as we continue to experience healthy lifestyles as our bodies go through the aging process."
