"If you are honestly struggling with mental health in Luzerne county, and are new to being a mental health patient.. please do as much research as possible and make as many public connections as possible, before going to Saxon Psychiatric Services. Id advise the population of mental health patients in that county to do their research throughly before subjecting yourself to inhumane services and treatment from the physician assistant Lauren Glowacki and Dr. Mark Saxon. You will be completely blindsided by the physical side effects to the cocktail of medications they will prescribe you. You will not have a voice and will be forced to do as they say in order to protect yourself from them involuntarily committing you to hospital. You should never have a distrust with another person who is participating in controlling and adding chemicals to your psyche. They will also make appointments more frequent than other practices in mental health to continuously bill your insurance, and supply you with endless amount of sample prescriptions even though they consciously know that new medication being prescribed to you is not covered by your insurance. As soon as you get regulated to that one you will have to try another and be a victim of another drugs side effects. Due to their inefficiency on haphazardly recklessly prescribing medications that they went to school for knowing what the consequences are. You will think they are trustworthy people by them letting office dogs roam their building off lead. But please don’t. You will suffer an immense amount of physical and emotional side effects due to their medical malpractice. I wish there are less mental health workers like them. They are the biggest hypocrites and scammers out in this world right now. Mental health doctors who pose like they are doing the right thing but really you are just another paycheck to them and your mental health does not matter. And Lauren Glowacki and Mark Saxon are just the tip of the ice berg."
"The staff are nice and efficient. Dr. Saxon and Lauren are both professional and approachable. I have gone in for appointments and they were on time and did not waste my time. I am glad to be a patient with these competent people!"
"I thought I’d found an intelligent and humane psychiatrist and assistant for once. I mainly worked with Mark Saxon’s assistant, Mark. I at first thought the front desk was nicer than people said, too. And I thought they were professional and kind and careful to get me tested for ADD by a qualified psychologist and worked with me throughout my pregnancy. But I was not doing very well under their care and my medications needed adjusting in ways so that I wouldn’t be so tired/fatigued. I was hearing weird confusing voices, and they went away as soon as I stopped going to that office. I say I stopped going but I was given an ultimatum by a woman at the front desk by the doctor to continue with my antipsychotic medication or he’d stop treating me, so I left. I asked my PCP for a medication combination that wouldn’t leave me so exhausted that I had trouble being the best mom I could be. He adjusted things a bit and I was doing very well, until a recent retraumatizing experience that makes me feel I might currently need a temporary increase in Abilify and anxiety meds. And intensive therapy. I was just trying to be a good mom and I couldn’t even express my anger to these doctors. Anger is natural and part of recovery. Even paranoia is natural under my circumstances. A good doctor would have had patience and continued to work with me and help not hurt. Mark didn’t even believe me when I said real experiences I went through because of my diagnosis - well that doesn’t negate the fact of things that happened. Instead they terminated my contract and called Child Protective Services on me! I would never hurt my daughter, she is a sweetheart and I love her. I fight my own demons hard to be as good a mom as I can possibly be and I feel so stigmatized, criticized, misunderstood, maltreated, outcast etc. CPS in PA understood and were good to us. But I’m sick of being hurt in the mental health system."
"We are always treated well at Saxon. Two family members served here. Office staff always a delight. Medical staff has direct access to Dr Saxon so our needs are passed along immediately. Prescriptions handles very professionally when needed. While visits may be intermittent, they are our provider of choice for years and we drive long distance to be treated there."
"The worst experience I ever had in dealing with a DR's office both of the people I spoke with were extremely rude to both my wife and myself. There was a lot of confusion with the insurance company not all was our fault. no understanding given to us. All they wanted was there 185.00 for a visit. Also we never herd of Dr office wanting your credit card on file. you go for a visit and pay before the visit why the need a credit card on file is beyond me I guess charge first ask questions later. Keep those people away from the phones do not go there or call Do yourself a huge favor and find somewhere else to go."
