UHS Pediatrics - Binghamton

"My girlfriend took her daughter there for a simple physical and shots. Typical school stuff. Shouldn't have been a big deal. Dr. Auerbach asked her a couple questions about some questionnaire she filled out. Questions like "Do you get depressed?" and "Have you ever thought about hurting yourself?" This 12 year old girl lost her brother AND started her menstrual cycles when she was 10. What would anyone think the answer be? She was honest and said that she had been. My girlfriend told the doctor that she does go to counseling. She had been since her brother passed. "Dr" Auerbach took it upon himself to have her committed to CPep. Against her mother's wishes under the threat of the police. And Auerbach looked at her and literally said "When it comes to mental health, your mother doesn't have rights." And there they sat in a waiting room that reeked of urine (elderly folks) and the severely mentally ill all around her. If you have never been there, or similar, these places are locked up with multiple armed people and guards. Because many of the patients are violent. And they weren't allowed to leave the whole time. And there they sat. In the waiting room. For EIGHT hours. Till the attending doctor looked at her. He listened to what my girlfriend and her daughter had to say. Looked at Auerbach's paperwork. And profusely apologized. Because she never should've been there. And was released within minutes. So this "doctor" traumatized a girl that I view as my own daughter for no reason at all. And it pisses me off. Do your child(ren) a favor and keep your kid(s) away from Auerbach. He'll do more harm than good. Just go to a walk in clinic."
