"Initially Dr. Kropf was very personable and eager to develop a friendly relationship with me. As the time with her progressed, the visits seemed less about my care and more social chit-chat. While I was hospitalized with streptococcal pneumonia Dr. Kropf’s recommendations were countered by other specialists treating me. She became irritated when she learned about the differing evaluations and literally stomped off the floor; I never saw her again during my hospital stay. Six months later during a follow-up visit, I told her I was having unusual bruising and painful lumps in my arms and legs; a biopsy was ordered and because there was no malignancy, she shrugged off my concern. I told her I was just feeling ‘blah’ and I had discolored urine and suggested having it examined. Dr. Kropf was more concerned with my dehydration. When I was sent to a different area the nurse there determined that I had an elevated temperature and suggested that I go to the ER if my temperature went up above 102 degrees. I wound up in the hospital again with sepsis and pneumonia. Dr. Kropf should have paid more attention to my symptoms. When I was discharged five days later I reported my concerns with the Clinical Supervisor and insisted that I be reassign to a different oncologist. Dr. Kropf was negligent and I could have lost my life because of it."
