"Not the oncologist for a stage IV patient. Though he is very smart, he refuses to think outside of the realm of standard of care, and is often times very rushed and apathetic. When he called to give me his condolences on my dad's passing, he started with: "I knew this was going to be a train wreck from the start." I understand that our outcome would not have been different with another oncologist, but a little bit of hope and empathy make a huge difference for the patient and their family...."
