Reviews of Hiland Golf Course
"The guy who runs the front desk is atrocious and blatantly rude. I have played here a couple of times now and today will be my last because I have never had a good encounter with him. I don’t know his name, but he is a golf-elitist snob with no manners or respect to his customers. Today, my brother and I had a tee time at noon. We got there at 11:56, and he still was angry with me and made snooty remarks about how I can’t tell time and how I “hopefully never have a real job where I have to punch into.” I could go on with other stories about him being rude, but it’s not necessary. In conclusion, save your money and go support a golf course that wants you there. Especially if you are young or new to golf, this course is not welcoming."
"Beautiful public course. Will play there again."
"Nice course. First time playing there but I've driven past there several times. Fairly short in total distance which is one reason I wanted to play. The only thing is that they are cash only and the ATM inside has like a $4 fee or something which I didn't see stated anywhere or I would have brought cash but oh well....I'll probably go back and overall it's a good course that's fairly well kept."
"This place is elite. We have already played 20+ local courses this year and this is our favorite. Great prices (especially on GolfNow) and a great environment. Course is in great shape and the bar/kitchen is fantastic. Food is great, good drink prices + selection and amazing hospitality. Highly recommend!"
"Mixed review on this place. First time playing here, arrived and discovered this is a cash only business. They have an ATM on site, but it’s one of these rinky dink setups so at first my bank wouldn’t authorize a withdrawal because it set off fraud alerts. Eventually got a text from my bank and was able to pull out money, but what a hassle. So what business in 2020 doesn’t have a credit card machine, they have a bar and restaurant in the place. This whole fiasco took about 10 minutes and put me in a bad mood for the first hole as we were rushed. I also had my son, who is a young junior golfer with me. Most courses have a discount for young kids, not this place, they charged him the full 40 dollars. Given the state of golf in the country and trying to get new young golfers interested in the sport you would think they would have a discount for kids, this is the first course he didn’t get a discount. The people were friendly and all about trying to help me get their ATM working so I can’t complain about the human being involved. Parts of the course were fun, it’s open in that there’s not really high grass but there are trees everywhere so if you’re off your fairway no guarantee of a shot at the green. I’m not a big fan of the overall layout. I don’t like 280 yard par 4’s and then 235 yard par 3’s. I was also scared of getting hit by a ball on this course, it’s a lot of back and forth fairways and some of the tee boxes are really close to the greens. Number 2 tee box is maybe 10 yards from number 1 green, which is a driveable par 4, that is dangerous. I would say the course was well maintained and it is scenic. Greens rolled good and had some challenges."
