"Dismissive of concerns. Didn’t want to do any further testing to rule anything out. Just said I don’t have leukemia based off the blood work results my doctor took two weeks prior but didn’t make the initiative to rule anything else out. Didn’t ask about symptoms or anything. Just blamed my labs on a medication I take but yet I wasn’t taking the medication at the time when all of this started a couple years ago. Spent all of maybe 5-7 minutes with me and was actively walking out the door while I was still asking questions. Told me I could’ve figured out what was wrong with me with a quick google search. My appointment started around 3 and I was in my car by 3:17. I saw his assistant longer than him. I’m going to be getting a second opinion. I don’t care how long you’ve been in practice or how well you know your specialty. It’s one thing to be experienced in your specialty but it’s another to be dismissive, walk out while a patient still has questions, not want to do further testing to rule other issues out, and to blame a medication on my lab results when I wasn’t even taking that med at the time when the lab results started coming back that way. I’ve had my share of bad experiences in the past, but nothing as bad as how Dr. Mayernik acted in his whole 5-7 minutes with me. Maybe I don’t have leukemia, but as a patient coming to the cancer center for the first time ever and telling me I could have googled to find out what was wrong with me, you could have done way better. I’m only sorry I didn’t speak up for myself but I was honestly just in shock at experience. I would not recommend anyone go to him. If your doctor refers you to him, ask for a different doctor."

"Let me tell you about this man. I wouldn’t allow him to help a cockroach. My father went in July first for medical issues at Forbes by July 2nd they knew he had cancer. It wasn’t until 2 weeks later this person met with my father and said he needed a biopsy after he said that he didn’t two weeks earlier. It wasn’t until a month later and there still wasn’t a treatment plan in place. My father took a turn for the worst and this person wouldn’t allow his associates to tell him what was going on. Well guess what my father is dead because of this doctor. He’s not coming back. He let him suffer because he had a vacation and refused to let his associates talk to him. So thank you for all you didn’t do. You let my father suffer and rot."
