Physical Therapy Now

"I had an excellent experience at Physical Therapy Now, Penn Ave location. Apologies for the long review - but I think it's worth it! For context, I fractured my tibia plateau skiing and most of my quad atrophied (no surgery). The location was extremely convenient for me, there is free off-street parking, and I had no trouble with scheduling (flexible, and a real person answers the phone / replies to your voice mail). I called for my initial appointment and got on the schedule a few days later. I was previously going to UPMC and was not happy with the level of attention I was getting. No one was watching my form, there was no heat/ice/massaging, the exercises were extremely repetitive, and I was only told to come once a week so unsurprisingly, my condition did not improve. I was ready for a change of pace and found PTN. My consultation was thorough, and they asked me what my goals were/what I hoped to be able to do again once I was healed. They assessed my strength/flexibility/etc. on both legs so there was a baseline to compare my progress against. They set me up on a pretty rigorous schedule (3x a week for 4 weeks and then 2x a week for another 4 weeks). I worked consistently with Michael and Heather and they were both great. I also worked with Lydia and she was awesome too. There is a lot of fun banter at this location between the connected gym (the owner of the gym is super nice too), PTN employees, and patients. No crazy machines, just exercises and equipment that get the job done. It was nice to start each session off with heat + stretching + massage/Graston (which, BTW, my knee doctor advised my Physical Therapist at UPMC do, but he refused to even after I brought it up...). In only TWO MONTHS, I had graduated PT and am back performing at my normal level of activity. I just need to continue working out to build up muscle in my left quad. If I ever need physical therapy again (fingers crossed I don't!), I will be coming back and will recommend this place to others. Thank you!!"

"Mike and his team will take care of you. They have a healing center approach. They don't want to keep coming back until eternity. All three of my kids have come here for treatment of a range of issues, and all three still talk about Mike & Mikey and the fond memories they have of their time going to PT."

"These folks know their profession very well and will get results with you. They came very highly recommended by my PCP, who is independent. They are organized and extremely communicative, both in person and also with utilizing technology. They have small locations, you receive plenty of consistent help , supervision, and treatment from the same therapists who know you - and your problem well. They are all upbeat, they try to make PT a good experience. They helped me with a couple of different lower extremity problems successfully, and I enjoyed working with them. I highly recommend!"
