"WFS let our child down completely from the very beginning and continued to do so throughout our 7 months of family-based therapy. First, our child was diagnosed with a behavioral disorder that he does not have, leading us down the path of inappropriate therapy. When I expressed to Dr. Sobkiewicz during our session that our child has been traumatized from abuse (granted I had to express this very delicately as their abuser was also on the call whom has threatened to kill me in the past for saying anything), she proceeded to NOT assess them for trauma during her evaluation. I was given a blanket statement at the end that if our child showed signs of trauma to notify her so they could conduct the trauma evaluation. I reached out to her multiple times afterward and received absolutely ZERO response. I even had calls with members higher-up at WFS whom genuinely seemed like they were going to help - nope. Never heard back from them either, and ultimately the supervisor of our therapists was more concerned about being liable for the inappropriate actions of our therapist Samantha C. (bias, inappropriate conversations in front of our child, threw my child's therapy drawing in the trash when it depicted his abuser) than taking any action that could potentially help our child. At one point Samantha actually advised me to tell my child they shouldn't say negative things about their abuser when they share claims of abuse with me or speak negatively about the abuser's friends. They built up a narrative that our child was 'playing' me, which took a horrendous toll on my mental health. Our experience resulted in lack of trust all-around. They require consenting to video recording sessions which I was was happy to do considering the nature of our situation. When I requested a recorded session months later in an attempt to help our child through the courts, they declined for not wanting to be 'liable'. The team at Wesley added tremendously to the existing/growing trauma and depression that my son and I are already facing via our abuser to the point where I'm seriously considering taking them to court. Not only a waste of 7 months, but significantly made situations WORSE by further psychologically harming our child and not giving him a safe space to talk. Further, when our child expressed to his therapist he feels ignored because of alcohol and drugs - they acted like it was no big deal and again proceeded to do NOTHING. Please go elsewhere even if you're desperate to help your child like I am."
"This place is the worst. They don't have therapists. My son hasn't seen a therapist in months. He doesn't get his medication on time and the staff are so rude. Don't come here."
"If there is a zero star option, I would definitely give one. Their services should take the kids with less attention, less vocabulary, less focus, or developmental delays. rather they only care about high functioning kids. They are at times not so friendly and welcoming (may be due to so many kids). Nevertheless, this is not a great place for therapies if your kid has developmental delays."
"I was forced to go here a few years ago and every time i went there the group was so disrespectful and didn't help me at all in no way with the problems i was dealing with."
"Can be tricky to find, so give yourself a little extra time...Great help for kids with Autism."
