"Sharing this in hopes of saving someone in a similar circumstance the trouble. I had an awful experience with this physician that could have altered the course of my health significantly. I’ll start with the wider issues and conclude with a core issue in doctoring. In general, her office seemed poorly run. I worked in clinical medical settings for over a decade as an administrator. Her staff had not prepped her room, she had the wrong charts for patients at their door. Her med student visibly seemed confused and she publicly chastised her front desk and clinical staff for their inefficiency. The waiting room was like a public health clinic cattle call with 11 patients waiting with an assortment of accompaniment including an arguing couple and a guy sleeping and a experiencing flatulence. One in a room, she asked if I was a specific person (HIPAA violation), she yelled that I wasn’t her “post op patient”. Once given my chart she said that my referring physician was opposed to the surgical procedure I was consulting her for. That wasn’t true. I asked her to review the notes and inquired, “why would she have referred me here then”. She reviewed the notes and uttered a diagnosis that my whole care team had said I do NOT have. She then went on to say explain that with this diagnosis (that I don’t have) and my age and weight the surgical procedure would not be helpful but she’d talk with my referring physician. Two weeks later she had not followed up with the referring doc. They reached out to her and she declined the surgery. I was discharged yesterday after seamlessly completing this procedure with another really excellent physician. This doc is what is wrong in healthcare. Inept and playing god while people trust them with sound decision making. She didn’t collect a single lab during my visit to assess any element of my health at the point in time. Gave me an armchair diagnosis of “this is common for women your age” which can be subbed with “your weight” “your race”. Had I not had another recommended doc to see in short sequence I would have sat with her way inaccurate assessment and it would have informed my health decisions as well as my emotional health. I’ve been clear and detailed in my disappointment in the care I did not receive from this person but I can easily sum it up as “screw disorganized, inept docs with glaring race/ weight/age biases.” I’m grateful that I’ve generally experienced better health care and could recognize that this was not that."

She was very patient and responded to my messages and her concern was to get me to feel better before I had my consult with Dr. Lee that she referred me to. Dr. Lee was great!! She knew exactly what was causing my issue and made a plan so that I could feel better. She was straight to the point and explained everything to me. She is so nice and makes you feel welcomed.
