"I seen PA Juliana Caricato today and she did amazing! She answered every question and concern I had! I would definitely recommend her!"
"This was a good choice of OB/GYN provider for my first pregnancy. The location is convenient, I was well respected by all staff, my concerns were adequately addressed, and scheduling was efficient. Favorite providers of mine included Drs Reinhart, Shaheen, and Carroll as well as PA Gilchrist!"
"My actual check up was fine but the front desk lady was not a good greeter. This was my first time there. I’ll try again but if she’s rude again I will not be returning."
"Extremely disappointed in my most recent "visit". If you can even call it that as I was turned away within moments of walking in the door because my newly turned 3-year-old child would not wear a mask. I've been going to this practice for 15 years now and have never experienced anybody as rude as the women that they have currently behind their desk. The greeting receptionist in particular, has been there approximately 3 years now I would say and it's always a horrible interaction. Always very ignorant and uninviting, in person and on the phone. Upon making my appointment, after having had to cancel two times prior, once due to personal reasons and another time due to lack of a babysitter, I was assured that I would be allowed in with my child but she would need to wear a mask. Having never had to do so, I told her I would try my best. My child has never had to wear a mask in any medical scenario up until this visit. I've taken her to other appointments whether it be for her siblings, herself or appointments with other types of physicians for myself across the board and have never been stopped from being seen. However they claim this "new UPMC policy" was refraining them from allowing me my rights as a patient to be seen for my yearly exam. It's not like I didn't try to put in on her, they seen me try repeatedly. I even expressed to them my concerns for my physical health having been having issues and needing to be seen. I drove an hour for this appointment and should add that I havent even able to see the doctor of my choice, Dr Shaheen. My previous doctor, Dr Thomas, who was wonderful retired and apparently there aren't any doctors taking any of his patients without a waiting list a year or more out. I already missed one yearly due to covid restrictions and I have a previous medical history that requires myself to be seen on a yearly basis. I have not been seen since 2020. I do not have adequate babysitting as a stay-at-home mother and as I've said I live an hour away from this practice. I think it's absolutely absurd to deny somebody their yearly exam when they are physically there in the building. Especially due to "covid protocol".... Arrangements and exceptions can always be made especially when you see that the mother is trying. Dr Shaheen was the only thing good left in this practice and sadly I will no longer try to return. It's a real turn-off to see that yes, maybe they care for their pregnant mothers however once that child is born, that child is nothing more than scum on the street. Also, once you yourself are no longer in running for having children AKA a money train for them, they don't care about you either."
"(Disclaimer: this review is from a visit I had last year that I posted on my other Google account) The experience I had with Dr. Robert Thomas was the worst I have had with a doctor in my adult life. I have been going to the OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh in Blawnox for the last few years and until now have had decent care - nothing to write home about, but good enough to stay with this practice for my yearly exam. The office staff is very nice, I never wait long for my appointment, and the nurses are all very kind as well. Dr. Thomas is different. He walked into the room, acknowledged that I was new to him, and introduced himself as the “last remaining male gynecologist.” I told him I had seen a few different doctors at the practice, and he was swift to correct me, saying that no, I had “seen nurse practitioners.” From a patient standpoint, what difference does it make? They are all “doctors” to a patient. These two comments within five minutes of meeting this man let me know that he thought very highly of himself. We began to talk about my gyne history. He noted that I had seen Dr. Suketu Mansuria. I said that yes, I had seen him for a laparoscopic removal of endometriosis. Dr. Thomas very kindly reminded me that “it was only a *tiny* bit…” At this point I began to lose my patience with this man. In fewer than 10 minutes, he had managed to belittle not only the staff he works with (by casually reminding me that they are not, in fact, real doctors), but also a problem I had dealt with for 2 years that caused a tremendous amount of pain. After this, we began discussing IUDs, as I had mentioned I was interested in switching from a birth control pill. After he gave me a history lesson on IUDs, he did the pelvic exam, and was not gentle about it. It’s ok, though, because he gave me a *very* heartfelt apology (“sorry if I hurt ya”). After the exam, he told me it would be “too much of a chore” to place an IUD in me. He then gave me multiple reasons I shouldn’t stop taking the pill – “it will make your migraines worse,” and “you could get pregnant, and you don’t to do that, do you?” I kindly mentioned I have been taking Topamax for migraine management for a very long time, and that my birth control method does not have an impact. His last comment to me was again that it would be a chore, and that “even for you – and you are *not* a small lady – your pelvic bones are pretty close together.” At least now I know that my weight has a direct effect on my bone structure. He then said he would “go ahead and refill that pill, unless you’ve changed your mind.” I assume he meant unless I changed my mind about staying on the pill… which, I had not. He left the room, I hurriedly dressed myself and ran from the office to my car to cry. My head is still spinning from the entire thing. I have since made an appointment with Dr. Mansuria (who, by the way, is absolutely WONDERFUL) to consult for an IUD, and I have told every female soul who will listen about my experience so they stay far, far away from this man (and likely, this whole practice.) I’m not sure how Dr. Thomas has such great reviews. I can only guess that I am not the first patient he has made comments of this nature to."
