"I switched to this practice from Advanced Women's Care and could not be happier that I did! All 7 doctors in the practice are kind and knowledgeable! Dr. Sword delivered my baby at West Penn and he was incredible. I could not have gotten through my birth without him. Beyond the amazing doctors, the nurses and office staff are incredible. Carole, Kim, and Noelle (the nurses) feel like family. They are so kind and caring. The girls at the desk are sweet as can be, too! I love this OB/GYN practice and would recommend them to any woman!"
"Do NOT go here, especially not for your first pregnancy. I am 28 weeks pregnant and now changing my doctor because I’m at my wits end with this place. (i am in my third trimester and more willing to visit a brand new doctor to deliver my baby than i am to deal with this place for 3 more months. put that into perspective.) My irritation began with doctor C Gallis, who let me and my husband listen to our first baby’s heartbeat for a total of maybe 5 seconds before we even knew what we were listening to. She also called me a “bad patient” for not getting my blood work done before my second appointment (my husband and i both work full time and had many multiples of things we were dealing with in our own personal lives at this point.) We had to ask the nurse how fast the heartbeat was to which we heard Dr. Gallis reply from another room: “Um. I don’t know. About 140 maybe.” I left this appointment crying. My final straw with this place was my appointment today with Dr. S Han. I left work hours early to go to this same day appointment because I am overwhelmingly concerned with what may be a liver condition that would result in a high risk pregnancy and possible early induced labor. Dr. Han treated me about the same way Gallis did; with little to no concern about my emotional state and a very rushed and lax visit. She even waved off the possibility of what I was saying by very casually saying “it could be normal or it could be cholestasis.” She offered zero explanation as to what that meant or what that would mean for me or my baby. Had I not taken it upon myself to look into it before coming in I would have no idea the risks that it could pose. She ended the appointment by mentioning- twice- that i am 26 weeks pregnant, which I am not. These doctors are careless and I would absolutely not ever recommend this place to any first time mothers. The only saving grace here is the Ultrasound Tech and the virtual psychiatrist they referred me to. Beyond that they are awful and I am so beyond excited to be getting away from them. Seeing your doctor should not make you feel belittled and stressed. Especially not during your pregnancy. *UPDATE: they left me a voicemail yesterday after referring me to a high risk pregnancy doctor asking that i call them back today between 8-4 for something that “is very important.” i’ve called them 6 different times this morning and all calls have disconnected. the last attempt i made to call them was immediately disconnected. i sent them a message through mychart last night asking for an explanation and still have yet to get one. i work 9-5 like the majority of america. i don’t have the time or patience to wait for them to take the 2 seconds to explain to me what is wrong with me or my baby. SECOND UPDATE: my baby is now 6 months old, and I did in fact have the condition I was concerned about when I went to this place (cholestasis.) I was not made aware of this until meeting my second doctor, who advised me that I would have to be induced at 37 weeks due to increased risk of stillbirth. These people never bothered to tell me that. Don’t go here."
"The amount of runaround they give you, the misdiagnosing, the lack of care, horrible chart records, a different Dr. every visit who clearly doesn’t read medical records etc. is ridiculous. AHN as a whole is absolutely disgusting discriminatory and dangerous to patients that they treat. Multiple patients complaining about the TERRIBLE Bedside manner. Lack of compassion, rushed service is just appalling. And you would think the women Drs. would be more in tune with women’s issues, but they’re more disrespectful and less compassionate than the male Drs. For every single issue you call about they send you to the ER and then have you follow up with an appointment afterwards to do nothing. The way they treat you while you’re pregnant is infuriating and unnecessarily dangerous. Too many women have had the same issues and have brought it to their attention. AHN needs to be held accountable. This is not fair to the patients or the families that they’re “providing care” for."
"The care, knowledge, and professionalism of this staff has been impressive. Dr. Miller was thorough, present, and willing to answer all my questions—even on a Friday afternoon. Carol, the nurse, went out of the way to help me find a facility with ultrasound availability the next day. As my husband says, it feels like we have a whole team on our side, who are honest and positive as we pursue our goal of having a family."
"I was extremely nervous about going to the OBGYN because of issues with two other offices. One misdiagnosed me for years and another was just plain judgmental about my personal family planning choices. Dr Charlie Miller was so kind and the nurse was awesome too. It really put me at ease and now I won’t be afraid of going every year."
