"Rude, nasty customer service reps, keep switching my primary care physician to the wrong one. Can't make up their mind as to whether or not I have to go to Quest for lab work or hospital. Constantly conflicting information. Deny claims, for much needed continuing therapy that I don't even want my doctor's offices to have to keep fighting with them, so I just deal with the pain. What is the point of having insurance then? Hoping I can switch to Amerihealth. Everything was fine when it was Gateway before Highmark took over. Also, I now suddenly have to set up a separate online account for each of my kids, even the toddler. When I've always been able to access information for all five of us, including viewing ID cards from the same account. It's like they are making things as inconvenient as possible."

"I can never get the medications I need to keep my body regulated. If the meds were life or death, I would be in big trouble. Be careful. Edit because it got worse: You can't even get the most minor screenings. I have many disabilities and it's almost like they don't want you to have any hope of ever getting treatment to live any inkling of a normal life. I just want to get well enough to make money to get OFF OF MEDICAID. I am living a nightmare."
"I wouldn't recommend this health care company to ANYONE. This is one of, if not THE absolute worst health insurance on the market. It denied my dentists request for a deep cleaning of my teeth because they labeled it as "over care" so I'm now going to have to pay out of pocket for it. I can't imagine what the case would be if I had an actual dire medical emergency that called for surgery or something. With health insurance like this you might as well have no insurance at all because I can guarantee 10 times out of 10 you're going to be paying out of pocket for whatever care you need to get."
"UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!! WILL NOT COVER TO REMOVE AN IMPACTED WISDOM TOOTH!!!!!! Ever since they changed to HIGHMARK it’s been problematic THIS IS STATE INSURANCE…..My daughter who still lives with me has an impacted wisdom tooth we receive this insurance through welfare in York PA DON’T CHOOSE THIS PLAN my daughter’s tooth is impacted. She can’t eat she can’t talk. She is in excruciating pain and they will not pay to have it removed. They denied it when it was time for her to go for her appointment to have a tooth extracted the dentist called and said that she owed over $1000 if she wanted it removed because the insurance company will not pay for it, if we had that kind of money to pay for one to to be removed, we wouldn’t be on state insurance!!!!!!!! You can look at my daughter and see she can’t talk right she is in that much pain. She is in tears every night. I don’t know what else to do. All this just happened so will be contacting welfare ASAP!!!!! I mean this is a serious issue. Obviously if she cannot eat, she hasn’t eaten for four days straight. She is in that much pain she can barely talk. She is in that much pain and for a state insurance to deny taking out one wisdom tooth when they will pay for somebody to have all their teeth removed in for a pair of dentures is ridiculous!!!!!!!! I wish I could give negative stars!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!"
