"Upscale Panera. Pros: great ambiance and space. Good to meet up with friends in a casual yet nice setting. Indoor/outdoor seating. Good bread & good coffee. Cons: I’ve never liked my food (no I’m not a picky eater). I keep trying to like this place. I’ve now tried every sandwich, every salad, and a few baked goods. Dishes are always either underseasoned (ex: shakshouka very bland, and I usually love shakshouka) or they add some strange unnecessary ingredients that throws off the whole dish (ex: tuna melt has a strange artificial lemon taste - and I usually think everything is better with a squeeze of lemon). Baked goods always dry/stale (other than the bread, bread is great). Also overpriced. It’s a great setup, I just think some small tweaks to menu would go a long way. Most recent visit: $70 for 2 salads, a sandwich & a cookie and only 1 person enjoyed their food - something’s off."
"We have had issues with some of the food quality and the service, but otherwise Mediterra is fabulous. Once a waitress here argued with my mother on whether her beverage was hot (it was not hot, it was lukewarm), which was incredibly uncomfortable. Another time, my Turkish poached eggs came out very “underdone” AKA the egg whites were translucent. I try to never send food back but the waitress reassured me that it was not prepared properly and send me another one, sans translucent egg whites. The atmosphere is great however, and I do like coming here. I just wish the service and food quality was a bit more consistent. Pictured: Turkish eggs that are perfectly done from Mediterra (NOT the ones mentioned in this review)"
"Mediterra Cafe is one of my favorite local restaurants. Their baked goods are sublime, their menu items always delicious, delightful lattes and the service is some of the cheeriest around! I can’t say enough good things about Mediterra!!!"
"Best atmosphere with Food on the block… the turkey sandwich with lemon aioli was delish! Awesome Carmel macchiato too! Might as well be the best coffee shop on the block too! So many seats outside covered patio for rainy days = no problem! Check out their groceries - all lives, bourbon, pecan, peanut butters, and other flavors, several gourmet olive oil’s, go Florida nacho chips buy one get one free, baked goods, ham, and cheese, croissants for morning foods, or picnics. This place is significantly stocked, not to mention a small and tasty selection of beer and wine."
"Very cool drink menu to order from! Their brunch options are very diverse and everything we tried tasted great! We were a large group and had a great experience eating at Mediterra Cafe! I recommend you to check this place out if you are in Pittsburgh!"
