MedStar Health: Primary Care at Hyattsville

"Used to love this location. My primary moved away. When I asked for a prescription renewal, I was told I had to have an appointment. The next one available 2+ months away in March. I mentioned my medicine is for depression & suicidal ideation. The receptionist ignored me and said “can’t help you, the next available is in March.” I sent that doctor another message mentioning my suicidal ideation AND I WAS IGNORED. Is this how MedStar handles people with mental health issues? Just ignore them when they mention suicidal ideation? I plan to also report this to MedStar corporate and talk to an attorney. It’s disgusting I was never responded to by this office. You should be ashamed!"

"Pre-check process was a failure. Successfully filled out all forms online in advance. When i arrived, no information was available and i had to repeat. This time consuming irritation was repeated on other customers. All were equally confused and annoyed. Bad way to start a visit, and most unprofessional."

"I walk in there with a lot of fear about my health,and walk out with a huge smile on my face, because of how well they take care of me and accommodate me,I didn't have a baby sitter yesterday and they let me bring my kids in with me. "This review is one star because of the front desk. I called to get a refill on my Levothyroxin which I need on a daily basis. The front desk told me no refill until I saw the doctor. There was no offer of a bridge script to cover my medication until the appt. As a result I had to wait 6 days until I could see the Dr. On Friday 1/12 I had my appt. The front desk told me I had to fill out a questionnaire on the I pad. I have charcot Marie tooth disease which makes it difficult to stand. While discussing my inability to stand in a loud voice., fortunately Brandi, Dr. Hylistka( not sure on the spelling) nurse overheard me and came out and escorted me to the doc's office. Both the doc and Brandi were great. They both apologized for my problem. They also told me I should have been offered an I pad to take to a chair to fill out the questionnaire. Your problem is the front desk clerk. Totally unprofessional and incompetent. This needs to be corrected asap. The fr"

"Visiting with my Primary Care Physician, Dr. Keisha Robinson is always a pleasant, informative, comfortable experience. I never feel rushed or like just an another name on the log sheet. She listens attentively to my concerns and explains what is happening with my health. After visiting with her, I am knowledgeable and encouraged about the resolution of my issues. Her staff is top notch."
