"Very disappointing! The initial triage and lab/EKG was quick and the staff pleasant, skilled and efficient. But then the wait begins! I waited over 7 hours in severe abdominal pain (8 out of 10 and doubled over) without seeing a provider so I left. No one even checked on me for six hours until a tech came and rechecked my vital signs. The front desk staff are like robots - they got the information to check me in but showed no emotion or compassion. My lab work came back showing elevated WBC’s and neutrophils, indicating an infection. I went to a minor emergency center a few days later and had my labs repeated, exam done, and antibiotic prescribed in an hour and a half. This seems to be a consistent story at this ER. There needs to be attention paid to the reasons it consistently ranks low and ways to improve to the standard befitting the Johns Hopkins name."
"Currently in the HOCOG ER with my mother who was brought here by ambulance after she passed out during physical therapy and it took a minute for the paramedics to bring her around. She had been in the ER waiting area since 2:00/3:00 pm . Finally got into a room about 8:00pm. She’s hooked up to monitor heart/blood pressure. One of the lil clamps had fell off and I had to put it back on. Not sure if an alarm is suppose to goes off for it or not but it didn’t. One nurse stated there was only two doctors here. That is a staffing problem that needs to be addressed. Still waiting to have a doctor assigned to her. How is this acceptable???? Still waiting (if we don’t turn to dust first) and it’s almost 10:30pm."
"Pure garbage. I went for shaking issues in july they made me wait hours just to say nothings wrong and send me home. I went to a real doctor and they did an MRI on my neck showing I had a spinal cord injury and needed "emergent spinal surgery" which i got. I have been seening doctors following that and today my doctor sent me via ambulance to "the hospital" because of tachycardia restong heart rate was up to 155 sustained. I end up at the Howard County General and they immediately sent me to the waiting room where I was goven zero information on what was going on so I decided to leave . They said there nothing abnormal in my chart so I am free to leave yet my chart shows multiple abnormalities in my blood work. Why would a hospital who is filled with people that "first, do no harm" make a person with a spinal cord injury sit in a chair for over 8 hours and nothing to eat. Do not go to this hospital. If you have a legit issue there is a chance they will probably just let yoy die or injure you more in the process."
"This review is for labor and delivery only This place is an amazing hospital to have kids in. We have had two kids here and one had a protracted monitoring stay. I’ve probably spent 2 full weeks of my life in the labor and delivery part of the hospital. The nurses and care there are great. -1 star because they did take away lunch and dinner for the bedside live-in guest which was a cheap move."
"My little had a scheduled surgery here on Monday. Staff was so helpful, kind, and caring. They made us feel a lot more confident about the procedure and took extra time to help us feel comfortable. Everyone was very professional. facilities were very clean and lunch was good. Very good hospital with great staff!"
