Highland General Store

"I was hiking in the area after that I was super hungry and tired. I came in and got a bag of chips and a soda before hitting the road. They have a hardware section and a deli. The selection of snacks and candies was very good. This store also has a large selection of wines and liquors. The cashier was very friendly as well. There was nothing special but this place is very convenient."

"Soup is great . So is the apple cake. Deli prices are lower than the supermarket in town. Sandwiches are great. Loved this place. Too bad I don't live in the area"

"Great asset to our community. The hardware department punches way above its weight in terms of its physical size vs. the variety of merchandise it offers and the same goes for the liquor area. The fresh baked goods are sublime. Visit and remember what retail was like pre-Amazon and pre-big box."

"This is a great store. They often have everything you need. You do pay a premium for convenience, and the selection is not the best. Sometimes you're better off going down the mountain, but if you need quick and convenient *anything*, you can go there. The next closest hardware store (in the valley) is not likely to have more, and they're a much better option than trying to get to Home Depot or McAfee. The beer selection is pretty good. The liquor selection is decent. The tools and home repair equipment is good. Groceries are limited, but they'll often suffice."

"While they don't have as much variety as you would find if you left "the mountain", it does usually have everything you need if your tastes are BASIC. This general store has a variety of beer, wine and hard liquor. They have a small food store, which carries soda and mixers. Given it is a general store, they also have hardware, paint and such too. ONE STOP SHOPPING...just not a wide selection of brands - but they usually have what you need. People are usually very nice and helpful."
