"I have been going to the Frederick office for approximately 8-10 years. I have been seen by both Dr. Muniz and Tracey Yager and both of them are very caring and personable. They go out of their way to be welcoming and warm. They also do an excellent job of explaining their actions in your behalf. I have been largely relieved of my allergy symptoms, but if I have a flare up, I am taken care of quickly and efficiently."
"I've had pretty consistently bad experiences at this facility, with the exception of the excellent care of Dr. Tracy Yeager. Dr. Muniz seems to mean well, but he also clearly doesn't value the input of his patients. Once he has an idea in his mind, that is the only possible solution (which was wrong in my case, as I knew it would be due to my strong suspicion of a common allergic comorbidity with several of my other conditions). Regardless, he refused to even test for the condition I suspected. It is almost impossible to get a hold of anyone at all times of the week. I usually spend at least half an hour trying to get someone on the phone, and usually I only get a voicemail after waiting in queue for a long time. This is a consistent experience. The staff were always between 10-20 minutes late to appointments. The nurses generally don't even leave the back room to call in patients; they just scream from the back and hope the patient in the waiting room hears. At my last appointment, I was to get a patch test for allergies, so I called to ask what kind of patch and where it would be placed. I was given completely incorrect information. The single patch was actually multiple strips of patches covering my entire back. When I came to have them placed, the nurse asked me to take my shirt off while she kept opening the door for everyone to see. I told her I won't shower for a week so it's not to displace the test patches, but she STILL plastered my back with medical tape over the patches because she didn't "want them to get wet." The tape was so dominant and uncomfortable that I took it off at the first opportunity. The patch tests were securely on there and did not need the tape anyway. I also wasn't given a copy of what was being tested, and the nurse almost seemed offended when I insisted on taking a photo of the sheet listing what I was being tested for. Dr Muniz was supposed to call me with the results, but I ended up calling his office multiple times because I never received that call. When he finally called back, he incorrectly thought I had removed the patch tests. This clearly shows that his office does not communicate well. He did not have my results, and had to call me back to tell me that the results were negative for each potential allergen. I have been trying to call in to get my medical records, as, at this point, I do not trust that they even have accurate records for that extremely uncomfortable test I was put through. Though they are required by Maryland law to provide me my medical records within the month, I'm not sure how likely that is considering the fact that I cannot get a hold of them. All-around, irresponsible and disrespectful treatment of a patient. Lastly, I will mention that this provider has no concept of a respect for patients who are bed bound or homebound, and at no point where they willing to help me accommodate my disabilities through video visits."
"Dr. Jose Muniz is awesome. He is the kind of doctor who seems to empathize and really listen to his patients. He is thorough and knowledgeable. The front desk staff is great too, I'm really glad I came to this location."
"This place is going down hill fast, enough where I don’t want to come back anymore. The shots do help with my allergies and the doctor was fine (the one time I’ve seen him). However, the positive ends there. The staff is a NEGATIVE 10 stars out of 10. The person who does the shots doesn’t come out of the back to call anyone’s name. They hide in the back and you can barely hear them. I have missed my name a few times and by the time I get back to have my shot, I get an attitude because I couldn’t hear them. Get off of your lazy butt, go to the doorway, and properly call the next patient! Appointments are a must but useless as well. We had an early appointment, showed up on time, but still waited nearly an hour for a basic injection (and that didn’t happen until I asked about the wait time). Replace all of the terrible nurses who do injections, spread out appointments so people can be seen on time, and ramp up customer care. Then you will have a good office. Until then, I can’t recommend this place to anyone."
"I have lost track of how many years I have been going to this practice to take care of my allergy concerns. The front desk is so friendly and helpful, even when the reception area is busy. The nurses are attentive, and Dr. Muniz always has something interesting to talk about to make the visit more personable. Highly recommend Premier Allergist of Frederick!"
