"I've been shopping here for about 20 years. The family who owns this shop are very welcoming and down to earth, especially the father and daughter. The items here are beautiful, very good quality, and many things are natural and hand made. They have gorgeous jewelry, great smelling oils, lotions, soaps, clothing, books, ect. I love this shop so much, that to buy my regular items, I travel all the way from Aliquippa, which is about 45 minutes away. I might be able to find similar items from some store closer to me, but there's no place like Jamils! Also, let's support all the local historic small businesses in East Liberty, including Jamils and places like it, who these big companies are trying to push out. Stores like Jamils are part of East Liberty and it's history! Don't let big business push out the local/little guy! East Liberty wouldn't be the same without this place! Updated on 3/28/21- I don't get here often, but the last time I came here I asked about Jamil and was told that he had passed, which really saddened me, because he was a good person who had such a welcoming and beautiful spirit! I know his family and the community miss him! He was a good example of how people of different races and religions, can and do, get along with, help, and uplift each other. It looks to me as if his son is doing a very good job of following in his footsteps. This is a family of good people with good hearts, with a store full of gorgeous, unique, and well crafted treasures. There's no other place around that could compare to its originality and charm!
