"Don’t be deceived like I was for 50 yrs. Back in 1974 my salary was 7k a yr and I spent $1200 for a 1ct engagement ring and wedding band for my wife. Today that would be the equivalent of making 70k and spending 12k for a ring. 20 years later we bought new rings. Recently we took the original rings to Treasure Hunt to see what they were worth. They gave us a price for the gold in rings, but said the diamond was worthless, that it had a plug in it. They let me look thru a Jewelers Loupe Magnifier to see it. They said it was probably a laser drilled hole, injected with a filler material to artificially enhance the brilliancy. Beware…make sure you get a guarantee stating the 4-C’s. Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Wgt."
