"I don't live here anymore, but while visiting a relative, you can always tell when the mail is delivered because the mailbox door is open/down. One day I saw the delivery driver at the box, and as expected the door remained open as he sped away. I called the post office to give some feedback and was met with more defensiveness than helpfulness. The following day, the mailbox door was again open, this time containing a message from the carrier stating "delivery service may be suspended until the faults are corrected." The fault is the driver, and if I could "correct" his shoddy service, I would, but it seems that trying to do this leads to passive if not active aggression. I hate to make a blanket slur concerning a government employee, but this one fits the stereotype. We will see if a written intervention to the Postal Service leads to a better response. I'm betting that it will more than likely lead to a visit with a baseball bat."
"Do NOT take your children here. Unless if you want to explain why a man is wearing a dress, high heels and lipstick to a child. Unreal. Pathetic and disturbing."
"The absolute worst. Carriers are ok but don't even think about going inside. U may be tempted to do something stupid.awesome hours as well, an added bonus to your wasted trip"
"This is a friendly neighborhood post office. Don't let the 'small town feel' fool you though, they are knowledgeable and know how to get things done efficiently. The clerks behind the counter have helped me make wise shipping decisions more than once."
"Really upset with this post office. Sent out 5x7 wedding invitations that contained a magnet in them and spoke directly with the West Point, PA office regarding how to send them. They sold me 3-oz 93 cent stamps for each one. I gave them directly to the West Point Post Office to place in the mail. My guest received a notification from the Barto post office stating that she owed them $1.61 cents because the letter should have been shipped as a parcel. I called the post office and tried to explain the situation to the woman. She would not allow my guest to pick-up the invitation instead of having it delivered without paying the fee. The only option she offered was a "return-to-sender" which then requires the letter to be placed back in the mail to me, add more work to the postal workers and delay my invitation from reaching my guest more days. My 93 cents I paid for the stamp was a waste as well. 1) If letters are sent directly from a post office and they confirm the shipping rate at that time, why is it being double checked upon arrival at another post office? 2) Why would the post office prefer to send a letter back to the owner instead of having it picked up which puts more work on them? Thank you for terrible customer service!"
